Novo  GitBoxIt is a focused Git client for macOS that helps you understand repository history, manage branches, review file changes, and handle everyday Git workflows with less friction.

Built for developers who want a fast native desktop experience, GitBoxIt combines visual commit browsing with practical Working Tree tools, compare flows, stash management, conflict handling, and direct Git command access.

Key features:

- Browse commit history quickly with a clean, readable native interface
- Compare your local branch with a remote branch to see incoming and outgoing commits clearly
- Inspect commit details, changed files, and diffs in one place
- Work with your Working Tree using staging, discard, patch creation, and stash flows
- Resolve merge, rebase, and cherry-pick conflicts with dedicated conflict tools
- Switch branches, check out remote branches, merge, rebase, pull, and push with streamlined controls
- Manage remotes, upstream tracking, and repository settings inside the app
- Open files in your editor, Finder, or Terminal directly from the Working Tree
- Use the built-in Git Command panel when you want raw Git access without leaving the app
- Handle multiple repositories from one sidebar-driven workspace

GitBoxIt is designed to stay fast and understandable even on larger repositories, while still giving you direct control over real Git operations.

## First-Time Setup

1. Open `Settings`.
2. Set your Git name and email.
3. Grant SSH access if you use SSH remotes.
4. Optionally choose a global gitignore file.
5. Add a repository or a parent folder from the sidebar.

### Local Branch Picker

- shows the current local branch
- click it to open a searchable branch list
- choose another local branch to switch
- the compare button beside it opens local-vs-remote compare mode

### Main Actions

- `Pull`
- `Push`
- `Merge`
- `Rebase`

### Remote Branch Picker

From commit-related menus and sheets, you can:

- create a branch
- rollback a commit
- cherry-pick
- apply a patch
- soft reset
- hard reset
- set tags
