Create maps for your upcoming travels or import from many popular map sharing services. Support for unlimited waypoints and routes. Arrange your content in groups or use visibility tools to focus on the map data you need right now.
Style your maps any way you like. Select the desired base map, marker styles and colors. Your imagination is the only limit.
Powerful route creation tools help you create new paths by simply clicking two points on your map. If you're going off grid where no trail exists, you can easily use manual path drawing to plan out your route. Edit existing routes via drag and drop of any of the waypoints along the route.
Cartographer is a native Mac app and works well with all your other apps. Copy and paste your map. Print a copy for offline use. Share a PDF with your travel partners.
We are focused on your privacy and data security. All data is stored on your computer and nothing is shared unless you choose to share. Industry standard GPX file import and export means you are not locked in. Take your data with you. GPX files created with Cartographer store their style information so if you share with other Cartographer users they will see the map you designed.
Cartographer requires a subscription or lifetime purchase to use the export features. Users without a subscription may not export GPX, JPG or PNG files. A free trial is available with subscription purchase and no charge will be incurred if the subscription is canceled prior to the end of the trial period.

- Bug fixes, new glyphs and some protection from accidental deletions:
- add airport, ferry, food, pin, leaf, beach, snow glyphs.
- add option to allow no glyph for locations. Useful when only the colored marker is wanted.
- allow import to existing groups on GPX import. This also allows adding imported content to multiple groups on import.
- add optional deletion confirmation. If this setting is active, you will be asked to confirm before deleting Locations or Paths.
- update info & EV charger glyphs.
- fix location inspector to show correct glyph (again.)
- fix import GPX creating extra groups.
- fix GPX export was not showing groups if locations OR paths were empty.
- fix GPX export group dialog formatting.
