Search engines put huge data collections such as the web at everybody's fingertips. However, after all these years, users may still have difficulties locating or managing their own files in their much-smaller file collections, even with search functionalities being available in the file managers.
Besides, different systems all have different "techniques" to use: file managers use "folders"; music/photo managers use "albums"; and search utilities show "search results". None of these three seems able to merge, although they often need to co-exist in a single app.
Now, with Get-Organized, everything gets managed in a unified way. The interface not only becomes simpler it also allows data of any type to get organized and accessed much more easily.
Trying to re-group your music albums in chronological order while they are stored in folders separated by the artists' names?
- No problem. Files and folders can get re-organized any way they are needed, using only search requests;
After having built a photo album for "Trip to Australia - 2010" and an album for "Trip to Australia - 2018", also want another one for "The Sydney Opera House - 2010 and 2018" and another one for "The Gold Coast - 2010 and 2018"?
- No problem. And if you loved visiting the places very much, building additional albums like "Sydney in the Summer", "Sydney in the Winter", and "Sydney - People and Streets" will be fast and easy too;
Want to divide some search results into sub-groups like the folders and albums, so that they become more manageable?
- No problem. Get-Organized can certainly do that, and much much more.
Best of all, there will be no new interface to adapt to, no new trick to learn or remember. Everything is achieved using the same old file-managing routines that have been around for years and years.
All operations in Get-Organized are search-based, meaning none of the files needs to be modified in any way except for the meta tags on them (when the tags are needed for the managing tasks). So please feel free to try out any functionalities you see - no data loss can ever happen when using the app.
