Built for fast onboard microphone capture, ScribeBar lets you start and stop from global hotkeys, then generates transcripts locally on your Mac using Whisper-based models.
Best Use:
Best results come from onboard mic capture or speaker bleed so both sides of the conversation are audible. If you use headphones, configure an Aggregate or Multi-Output device so meeting audio is still captured.
No built in speaker detection: transcripts are plain text and are intended to be pasted into an LLM for summaries and further processing.

It does not provide guaranteed speaker diarization (who-said-what labeling).
It does not include live real-time captions during recording.
It does not auto-join meeting apps or capture app-specific call audio streams directly.
It does not sync transcripts to cloud services.
It does not guarantee perfect accuracy in noisy rooms or overlapping speech.
