Photos, PDFs, and other commonly shared file types contain metadata that can include sensitive personal details. When you share a file, other people, web services, and potential bad actors can see that file’s metadata—a potentially serious privacy risk. MetaWipe gives Mac users a fast and easy way to remove metadata, so you can share files safely while still protecting your privacy.
One-Click Removal
MetaWipe takes the guesswork out of metadata removal. Just right-click on any supported file type or folder on your Mac, choose the MetaWipe option, and delete metadata with a click.
Batch Processing For Big Jobs
Removing metadata can be time consuming if you try to do it file by file. MetaWipe lets you drag and drop large groups of files directly into the app—or even right-click on entire folders—to quickly remove metadata from multiple files at once.
Full Photo Album Cleaning
After a vacation, wedding, or just a big night out, you often end up with hundreds of photos in a photo album or storage folder—all of them containing your private metadata! MetaWipe lets you mass-wipe metadata from large photo collections in one go. Just drag and drop your photos into the app, or right-click on a photo storage folder, and MetaWipe will do the rest.
Customized Removal Options
MetaWipe is designed for simplicity and ease of use. But for advanced users, the app also provides custom metadata removal options. For example, you can use MetaWipe to erase *only* certain kinds of file metadata, while leaving the rest intact if you so choose. MetaWipe can also be configured to save metadata-wiped versions of your files to a special folder for public sharing, while preserving the original files with their complete metadata for your personal use.
