Fixed issue with attribution of the task to workers.

Fixed bug regarding not being able to store wood collected on the map to the woodshed.

Fixed garden patch not working.

Animations for bathing customers are working properly again.

Fixed display of money earned from bathing customers.

Fixed most of the saves not loading properly.

Fixed issue with stacking water in the barrel, causing the worker not to load the water. In case you still encounter bugs related to this issue (especially in the prologue) we recommend hiring more workers as a temporary workaround and sending over save files.

The patch you have been waiting for

Dear Innkeepers of Delcrys,

It is with great pleasure that I bring you the news of Patch 4.0! This has been a long time coming. The kingdom, and I, are grateful for your patience and for sticking it out with us! All joking aside, Klabater heard you loud and clear and brought a person onboard to specifically work on correcting and improving things.

A lot of time and effort went into not only the coding and compiling of the massive list of bug fixes and improvements seen below, but there were also considerable hours of play testing done prior to release. Not only by ‘the kingdom,’ but also by me, your faithful Court Herald! I have said that things would get better and, dear Innkeepers, we have crawled through the moat together and are now standing on the other side. And it. Is. Better!

All that being said, there are always improvements to be made and fun things to be added once the dust has settled. I have said it for months now and I say again, Delcrys is alive and well!
Let’s get to it! Patch Notes

Added pathfinding visualization to help players with issues related to pathfinding. You can activate it by using a new button located next to the ‘God Hand’ button. There are 3 colour-coded areas: green - outside blue - inside available for everyone yellow - inside available only for worker

Fixed anti-aliasing.

Fixed workers continue to try performing an action even if there is no path available.

NPCs don’t walk into walls anymore.

Fixed the issue regarding more than one person using the bathtub. (Also confirmed!)

NPCs now respond properly to deleting bathtubs while they are going to use it.

Adventurers won’t be taking baths anymore.

NPCs now are properly removed from the user tab after taking a bath.

Fixed issues related to the game assigning wrong user to baths.

NPCs won’t stay at the counter for no apparent reason no more. Now only NPCs waiting for their baths will stay at the counter to wait for their service to be prepared.

Fixed bath actions not working properly after reloading the game.

Fixed an issue regarding removing particular wooden planks.

Decluttered the screen by only showing icons for selected levels instead of all.

Updated physics check for object placement on the map.

Fixed Chinese translation.

Added option to choose a prefered counter to be used by guests depending on set priority.

Fixed animation whilst performing going to bed action.

Fixed animation whilst performing taking a bath action.

Fixed crashes caused by Vedetas actions.

Icons responding for city influence level where lighting before the level was achieved. This is also fixed now.

Fixed posh benches not fitting posh tables.

Tweaked finance system.

Removed unused shortcuts from Tips’n’Tricks.

Fixed issues regarding putting down and deleting tiles.

Translated “Allow All Objects in All Rooms” to all supported languages.

Fixed paying back debt system.

Fixed issues related to different tasks.

Shortened error messages so they fit the UI properly.

Added missing pop-ups with descriptions for objects.

Added missing counter name.

Limited the amount of wood that can be stored in a wood holder.

Fighting rings now earn money properly.

Fixed multiple bugs related to UI.

Watched resources are now sorted alphabetically. (along the bottom of the screen)

Fixed crashes occurring when buying pets in pause mode and inspecting them.

Changed the direction of the green arrow showing the alignment of benches and stools.

Fixed issue regarding multiple staff performing a single task.

Fixed income animation for renting a bed not showing up.

Fixed waitress's headdress clipping.

Corrected mouse accuracy when building on higher floors.

Fixed issues regarding sending employees to obtain a piece of furniture while they’re asleep.

Fixed bard’s music speeding up when setting time to ‘Fast’.

Fixed already known recipes showing as available for purchase. (It’s true! Duplicates are removed overnight! Furniture, too)

Updated employee levelling and their salary raise.

Fixed the rotating cats bug.

Fixed lag when switching to Build mode.

Fixed lag when deleting certain objects.

Fixed different crashes triggered by animations.

Fixed issues with translations for several asset names and UI elements.

Fixed map clipping issues.

Fixed Billboard, so horses don’t get blocked anymore.

Doors and windows now give money when deleted.

A few more notes: You do not need to uninstall/reinstall the game for this patch to work. This patch does not require starting anything over. Therefore, you should have no problems playing previously saved games that were updated to 3.0.8. Did you know? You can skip the prologue (Act I) of the game! Check under Options>Game and check the “Skip Prologue” box. Not recommended for first-time players. Act I is important for learning how to play.

Whew! As with any large patch, there will be quirks. We welcome your feedback and will work quickly to resolve anything that comes up.

Quality of life update 1.1.2

Our Cairn Quality Of Life update includes a bunch of adjustments, new features and bug fixes that will make your experience with Cairn even smoother. In particular we are bringing tweaks to accessibility, new performance options on PS5, features you asked for like the automatic finger tapping, a new feature to visualise Aava’s efforts, improvements to Aava’s getting down from walls, Climbot’s behaviour and much more. Read below for more details.

Here are the major changes:

Tweaks to accessibility:

Ticking the No survival option will refill your survival gauges, helping you get out of a difficult situation

When you’re in difficulty, you now have more chances to find useful loot for your survival

On your PS5 you can now chose a Performance mode prioritizing framerate

You can now automatically tape your fingers

The Audio spectrum option lets you visualise Aava’s efforts. We’re hoping this feature can help climbers with hearing disabilities, let us know if it does and how we can improve!

Photo mode additional options: remove Aava’s hood, change damage level, add logo… We’re ready to see your new pictures!

We have also improved some behaviours - in particular regarding Aava getting down from a wall without falling and Climbot general behaviour (he is less close to you especially in Free Solo mode).

We have also fixed a significant quantity of bugs!

We have found a temporary solution for the FPS issues onAMD RX 9000 series cards, and ROG Ally X.Here is how to improve your framerate if you're in this situation.

In GoG / Cairn / Game Settings / Manage installation / Configure / Features / Custom executables / Duplicate

On Windows add this launch option -force-d3d12

On Linux add this launch option -force-vulkan

We will keep working on performance improvements, but until then, this quick setting change should greatly improve your experience!

We have also put together a patch that solves some minor bugs:

How to start the new level pack

If you already own BUTCHER and have some progress going on, we recommend starting the campaign in another (temporary) save slot. Alternatively, you can just play the levels one-by-one from the level browser.

W.I.M.P. (23 December 2016)

BUTCHER W.I.M.P. (Winning Is My Pleasure) is an easy mode update that will allow you beat levels only for the price of losing your dignity (if you have no dignity already, you lose nothing!).

Warning! Side effects might include:

Depression

Lower self-esteem

Socially inappropriate behavior caused by the loss of self-respect

Feeling offended

Sleep disorders

Also, we've recently added the following features:

Better gamepad support (especially XBox and DS4 on Windows)

Key combo support in controls settings

Multiple save files

Compatibility tweaks and minor bugfixes

Note: if you would like to remove the changes made by the W.I.M.P. update then you will need to remove or rename the wimp.txt file found in the game's directory and restart the game.

Better gamepad support:

Supported gamepads and operating systems (the list might grow in the future) - if not on the list, it might work, but no guarantees (we have no way to test everything, especially on non-Windows platforms):

Windows 7: XBox 360 (wired and wireless), XBox One, DS4, Logitech F310

Linux (Ubuntu 16.04, default driver): Xbox 360 (wireless)

OSX: Logitech XUSB, DS3

Slight auto-aim and rebindable gamepad layout.

Advanced settings for unrecognized gamepads (or not recognized properly) - old "experimental" section.

Possibility to turn off gamepad menu navigation in cases of improperly recognized gamepads.

Possibility to change dead zones for walking and jumping.

No keyboard layout select popup if gamepad is used in-game.

Combo keys support - just press 2 or more keys in the key config prompt.

Multiple save files.

Level browser is accessible regardless of the progress of the game.

Fixed: shader compatibility issue that caused low framerate in rare cases.

Fixed: black screen issue (fix worked on Windows 8.1 and integrated Intel GPU).

Fixed: city 4 end-arena elevator bug.

Fixed: city 3 lighting didn't work properly from time to time.

Update 2 (10 October 2016)

Added: an option to clean-up all gore each time you respawn (Settings -> Video).

Fixed: not working skull achievements.

Fixed: being able to go outside of the map in jungle, level 1.

Fixed: railgun ignored picking up ammo when charged.

Fixed: grenades (and likely other window-breaking projectiles) could tunnel through wall if shot through overlapping breakable window.

Fixed: level browser menu impossible to navigate with gamepad.

Fixed: slight sound tweaks here and there.

Added more places to hide, more ammo packs and balanced the number of more difficult enemies in Ironworks Facility levels.

Added options to turn off HUD health feedback (hurt noise and low HP warning overlay) for people who don't like it

Update 1.2.5.2 (13 December 2016)

Phew, it took longer than we thought but we’re finally here! Another patch comes, as promised, and it should fix many of the issues you guys were having recently. We’re vigilant and we’re looking into all of the problems you’re reporting. We know that at the end of the day you just want to play a cool game without any hassle, so we’re truly thankful for all of your feedback. Thank you!
Ok, now enough of this jibba jabba and let’s get to what’s new:

Added a teleport system to the game. It’s entirely optional and you can find it, unsurprisingly, in the options menu. It’s the point-to-click sort where you freely choose the location you want to go (instead of moving to a predetermined zone). It works with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive;

Fixed the OSVR support for the newest HMD, just choose one of the HDK2 compatibility modes while starting the application. There’s one caveat though - HMD scaling (supersampling) is currently unavailable on OSVR;

Broader support for unsupported devices. Now the game launcher will be giving you six choices instead of the usual three. If you happen to have an HMD that is not of the Oculus-Vive-OSVR variety, you can now choose one of the new compatibility modes and (fingers crossed) everything will be working. No guarantees but we believe in many cases that should do the trick;

Fixed the issues with game saves. We’ve tested it extensively to find the cause of the problem and the saves you’ve provided were of huge help to us. Now both saving and loading works as intended;

Changed the locations of several checkpoints, so no Alice will be trapped in a no-win scenario ever again;

Snap turning on HTC Vive will no longer cause you to move backwards, so now everyone can follow Pop’s mantra: “Never backwards, always forward”;

Fixed all discovered causes of players getting out of bounds, because in the game of croquet everyone needs to stay in the play area;

Now on HTC Vive you can use both motion controllers and a gamepad, so even if your HTC Vive is the off-brand type, you can still play Alice VR;

The camera position on HTC Vive has been brought in line with its position on Oculus Rift. Yeah, it’s a weird thing to mention in patch notes, I know;

Fixed achievements (On Foot, Grown a Conscience, Greedy, Carbon Footprint, Mommy?). Now the system works faster, is shinier, and in case it bugged out on you the first time, you’ll be able to get the missing achievements on your second go-round;

Fixed collision issues, especially on ramps. Ramps are tricky;

Enhanced lighting effects in the City.
