ScotRail Turbos star in the spotlight, as this modern diesel legend populates the round-and-round rails of Rivet Games’ Fife Circle Line in Train Sim World® – now featuring the brand new Levenmouth Rail Link!

With a history dating back to the 1840s, what is operated today as the Fife Circle Line was built by multiple companies. Over time, lots of branch lines started to appear in both the regions of Fife and Lothian. However, there is one key obstacle which prevented the lines from initially joining up: the Firth of Forth, a mile-wide estuary north of Edinburgh.

Construction of the almighty Forth Bridge in 1890 changed everything. Spanning over 8000 ft, the cantilever bridge carried the railway high above the water and opened a vital connection between north and south. This led to the linking of lines via the coast, which itself is an extension of the East Coast Main Line, as well as the “loop line” which splits off at Inverkeithing and Kirkcaldy, via the city of Dunfermline.

In Train Sim World®, climb aboard the ScotRail BR Class 170, a popular DMU throughout the UK, and serve the regions of Lothian and Fife on one of Scotland’s last diesel-operated commuter lines. With the power of free roam, explore the route as you desire; Flying Scotsman would be right at home as it traverses the World-renowned Forth Bridge!

In 2024, ScotRail opened the brand new Levenmouth rail link, linking 2 stations to the Fife Circle network which haven’t existed since the pre-Beeching days of British Rail. Discover this newly added line and serve Scotland’s latest stations with this bonus branch line extension!
