🃏 How to Play Spiderette Solitaire Four Suits
Spiderette Solitaire Four Suits follows similar rules to Spider Solitaire, adapted for a single 52-card deck. Here’s a quick guide on how to play:
Setup & Layout: The game uses one standard deck (52 cards). The tableau is dealt into 7 piles (just like Klondike Solitaire’s layout): the first pile has 1 card, the second has 2 cards, and so on up to 7 cards in the last pile. Only the top card of each pile is face-up. The remaining cards form the stock (usually 24 cards) off to the side, to be used later. There are four foundation piles which start empty – this is where completed sequences will go.
Building on the Tableau: You can build cards on the tableau piles in descending order by rank (King → Queen → ... → Ace), regardless of suit. This means you can place a lower-ranked card on a higher-ranked card as long as it’s the next rank down (e.g. 7 on 8, Queen on King), even if the suits don’t match. However, only cards in the same suit form a continuous sequence that can be moved together as a unit. If you stack cards with mixed suits, you can only move them one at a time until the sequence is all one suit.
Moving Cards & Empty Columns: You’re free to move any single card or any in-suit ordered sequence of cards to another tableau pile, as long as it follows the descending rank rule. If you uncover an empty tableau pile, it can be filled with any card or sequence of cards as a new starting point. Creating empty piles is a key strategy – open columns give you more maneuverability to rearrange sequences.
Dealing from the Stock: When no more moves are available or you want to mix things up, click on the stock to deal one new card face-up to each tableau pile. This is similar to Spider Solitaire’s deal mechanic. Important: You can only deal from the stock when all tableau piles are filled (no empty piles) – this rule makes the game trickier, so try to fill any gaps before dealing. There are no redeals once the stock is exhausted, so use the stock wisely to avoid getting stuck.
Goal – Complete Suited Runs: Just like Spider, the objective is to assemble cards into a full descending run King through Ace in the same suit on the tableau. Whenever you form a complete K-to-A sequence of one suit, it will automatically move to a foundation pile (often off-screen or at the top). Once all four suited sequences (one per suit) are collected to the foundations, you win the game! 🎉
Keep in mind that Spiderette Four Suits is considered hard – expect a low win rate (often only ~5–10% of deals are winable) due to the complexity of four suits. Don’t be discouraged; every loss is practice, and winning feels extremely rewarding! Use strategic moves, create empty piles early, and build sequences in-suit whenever possible to improve your chances of victory.
