Instead of relying on a separate converter for every possible language pair, Code Transpiler analyzes the structure and meaning of the input program and transforms it into a language-independent semantic representation. This intermediate model is then used to generate source code for the selected target language. The architecture makes it possible to transfer programs, algorithms, data structures, expressions, functions, and control-flow constructs between different programming ecosystems through one unified translation pipeline.
Users can freely select both the source language and the target language. With 13 registered languages, the application provides a common foundation for all supported source-to-target combinations. Its semantic approach is designed to preserve the intent and structure of the original program more effectively than simple text replacement or syntax-only conversion.
Code Transpiler includes a graphical desktop interface for interactive file conversion, language selection, source inspection, and generated-code review. It also provides an integrated command-line interface for automation, scripted workflows, batch processing, continuous integration, and integration into existing development toolchains. Individual files can be translated directly, while automated workflows can process larger collections of source files and generate output for one or multiple target languages.
The project is also available as an importable Go package. Go applications can use its public API to inspect registered languages, transpile source code, export semantic representations, generate target code from semantic documents, and query implementation or capability information. This allows the transpilation engine to be embedded into custom development tools, migration utilities, research software, build systems, and code-analysis pipelines.
Code Transpiler is especially useful for software developers, researchers, educators, and technical migration projects. Typical applications include translating R scripts into Go or Python, porting numerical and scientific algorithms, exploring equivalent implementations across several languages, modernizing legacy code, creating starting points for manual ports, and generating platform-specific source code from a shared semantic model.
The system is intended to support both practical code conversion and deeper language-analysis workflows. Its accompanying capability matrices, semantic models, verification tools, and test suites make the implementation status transparent and help distinguish directly supported language features from constructs that may require runtime assistance or manual refinement.
Generated code should be reviewed and tested before production use, particularly when translating language-specific behavior, native interfaces, concurrency models, memory-management rules, reflection, metaprogramming, or platform-dependent functionality. Code Transpiler provides a structured and extensible foundation for cross-language migration while keeping the final validation process visible to the developer.
