Choose or create a normal folder and turn it into a connected, portable workspace. Create notes, tasks, assignments, research sources, goals, meetings, decisions and project documentation using familiar, readable files.

Check Docker and Kubernetes readiness separately so an installed CLI is not mistaken for a healthy runtime. Inspect Docker applications, containers, images, volumes, networks and Compose workflows, and work with Kubernetes clusters, contexts, applications and deployment-related tools.
Runtime status, compatibility information and selected Kubernetes context are presented clearly so you can understand the environment before performing operations.
Sensitive or destructive operations are intentionally guarded. DevDesk uses explicit confirmations and bounded actions rather than exposing broad destructive operations by default.
### Containers & Kubernetes
DevDesk can now act as a central workspace for local Docker and Kubernetes operations.
Check whether the Docker CLI, Docker engine, kubectl and selected Kubernetes cluster are available and reachable. View runtime versions, active context, namespace and compatibility information from one place.
Use guided setup and runtime checks to diagnose missing or unavailable components without confusing an installed command-line tool with a running service.
The goal is not to replace Docker or Kubernetes. DevDesk provides a more organised and guarded workspace around the development tools already installed on your computer.
Your Files Stay Yours
DevDesk is built around ordinary files stored inside a folder you choose.
Copy the folder, back it up normally, place it inside Git or open supported files using another application. Your project does not depend on a proprietary DevDesk cloud format.
No account is required to begin working.
Sensitive values such as API secrets remain protected on the device instead of becoming part of portable project files.
Safe, Reviewable Assistance
DevDesk supports manual work, review-first changes and bounded automation.
Proposed file changes can be inspected before they are applied, helping you remain in control of your workspace.

Open Knowledge Format Support
Use optional Open Knowledge Format (OKF) structure checks when a Markdown folder needs clearer concepts, metadata, sources, lifecycle information and portable indexes.
DevDesk separates required findings from warnings and optional recommendations.
Preview-first conversion keeps ordinary Markdown readable and preserves unknown metadata. Unsupported future OKF versions remain diagnostic and read-only instead of being modified automatically.
Optional AI Agent Connector
On Windows, the optional AI Agent Connector allows your own Codex, Gemini CLI or another compatible MCP client to request controlled workspace context from DevDesk.
The connector can expose selected metadata, graph relationships, workspace issues and OKF status through the local Windows loopback interface.
Markdown text access and review proposals are controlled separately through opt-in permissions.
Connected agents cannot directly approve their own proposed changes, delete files, execute terminal commands or push Git operations through this connector.
DevDesk does not include an AI model, AI subscription or cloud AI account. You choose and control any compatible external AI client you connect.
Local-First by Design
There is no DevDesk cloud account, no forced project upload and no silent file synchronisation to a DevDesk server.
Network activity occurs only when you deliberately use functionality that requires it, such as sending API requests, fetching supported public content, validating links, opening external pages or using tools you explicitly connect.
If you want a workspace that combines productivity views, project knowledge, API tooling, local developer utilities, Docker and Kubernetes context, and optional controlled AI integration—while keeping your files yours—DevDesk is built for that.
