Descripción

QuelPad
QuelPad is the TypeScript data workbench for developers. Ask in plain English, explore with TypeScript.

Open a tab, point it at a database, and start writing. Your schema arrives as real TypeScript types, so column names autocomplete and typos are compile errors rather than a failed query three minutes later. Chains lower to SQL where the database is faster and fall back to the script where SQL cannot express it — and the app shows you which half ran where.

WRITE A CHAIN, NOT A QUERY STRING

The Fluent API reads like the shape of the question:

await invoices
.where(i => i.invoice_date.after(now().addDays(-365)))
.groupBy(i => i.invoice_date.startOfMonth())
.select(g => ({ month: g.key, total: g.sum(i => i.total) }));

Verbs decide where work happens, with no exceptions to memorise: .where and .select run in the database, .filter and .map run in the script. When raw SQL is the right answer, db.sql is one call away and still returns typed rows.

SEE THE RESULT, NOT A GRID OF STRINGS

One dump() renders whatever the data actually is — a virtualized table, a chart, a pivot with a heatmap, a diff between two result sets, a tree for nested JSON, a hex view for binary columns. Numbers stay numbers: bigint and decimal columns arrive without silently becoming strings, on every engine that can do it losslessly.

SIXTEEN ENGINES, ONE API

PostgreSQL, MySQL / MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, DuckDB, ClickHouse, CockroachDB, PGlite, LibSQL / Turso, SingleStore, AWS RDS Data API, and the serverless HTTP drivers for Neon, PlanetScale and TiDB Cloud. Local CSV and Parquet files open as a database too. The same chain runs against all of them.

AN AI ASSISTANT THAT ASKS BEFORE IT RUNS

Bring your own key — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or a local model through Ollama, LM Studio or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. The assistant reads your schema and writes chains for you, and every edit lands as a proposal you accept or reject. The one thing it can run is the script in your editor, and only on your terms: each script is set to Ask (the default), Auto or Off. A run it starts goes through the same connection access levels and write approvals as your own, and it has no tool that installs a package.

The full assistant is on the free tier, including AI edits.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS

Telemetry is zero-passive. Nothing leaves the machine on its own — no analytics, no heartbeat, no feature-flag ping. Error reports are a per-event decision, they show you the exact payload before it is sent, and you can scrub it first. Credentials live in Windows Credential Manager, not in a config file.

BUILT FOR KEEPING, NOT SUBSCRIBING

Free covers one server connection plus unlimited local files, the sample database, the full AI assistant and schema autocomplete on every connection.

Pro ($89, one-time) adds unlimited server connections, cross-database joins inside a single script, notebook cells with memoisation, a snapshot timeline, and the full dump surface including schema diff.

Premium ($139, one-time) adds a resident cross-database federation engine, a headless CLI runner for cron and CI, and audit log export.

There is a 30-day trial of everything, started from inside the app. No subscriptions, ever.

Chinook ships with the app, so you can paste an example and run it before configuring anything.
