RESTdrop is a lightweight, pure user-mode desktop utility that bridges local HTTP/HTTPS REST API requests to hardware Serial COM ports.
IMPORTANT: RESTdrop DOES NOT bundle, package, or install any kernel device drivers or Windows services. If you are using physical USB-to-UART hardware (e.g., Arduino, FTDI, CP210x, or CH340 adapters), please ensure the appropriate manufacturer device driver is already installed on your system or updated via Windows Update.

RESTdrop is a high-performance cross-platform desktop application that bridges modern web applications, test automation scripts, and developer tools directly to physical computer Serial (COM) ports via a lightweight embedded REST API server.
KEY FEATURES:
- Multi-Port Concurrent Listeners: Run multiple independent REST servers simultaneously on custom ports (e.g., 3000, 8080, 9443), routing each to separate Serial COM ports.
- Support for Localhost over TLS: Built-in support for localhost over TLS (https://localhost:port), allowing web apps running in secure contexts to communicate without mixed-content browser restrictions.
- Dynamic Route Matching & Wildcard Capture: Route parameters and wildcard path capture forward deep route paths directly to the serial device.
- Structured JSON & Raw Byte Streams: Formats payloads automatically into structured JSON or forwards raw byte streams.
- Live Traffic Monitor & Simulator: Inspect incoming requests in real-time with latency measurements, payload sizes, and transmission confirmations.
- System Tray & Background Operation: Minimizes cleanly to the Windows System Tray to keep active hardware bridges serving traffic uninterrupted.
- 100% Local & Private: Zero telemetry, zero cloud dependencies, zero external tracking. All configuration and traffic stay strictly local.
