StallScope
Novo  Occasional stutters and momentary freezes share one problem: by the time you open Task Manager, the machine is behaving again and the evidence is gone.

StallScope runs before the symptom, recording every second. Per core and per drive, each in its own column, so the distribution at the moment it froze can still be reconstructed afterwards.

At the centre is a single measurement: wake_lag. A watchdog thread asks to be woken in 50 milliseconds and records how late it actually was. CPU load and disk latency are candidate causes; this one measures whether the machine actually stalled.

Crossing the threshold writes a snapshot with the preceding 90 seconds included at 1 Hz. The analysis report extracts the bad intervals and ranks contributing factors, normalised against the machine's own quiet-time variance.

Pricing (in-app purchase)
Everything listed above is free, with no time limit and no restrictions, and both tiers record exactly the same thing. Pro (US$1 per month or US$10 per year) adds three ways of reading what was recorded:
- Before/after — put the days either side of a fix side by side and see whether it worked
- Shareable report — one anonymised page, fit for a support desk or a repair shop
- Long-term trend — month by month, so you can see it getting worse
The history those rely on accumulates on the free tier as well, so activating Pro makes the preceding months readable immediately. You can cancel at any time from the settings window, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

Requirements
Windows 10 version 1809 or later, 64-bit. About 1% of one core, measured. No administrator rights.

Privacy
Recorded data stays on your disk and is never transmitted. With Pro, the licence key alone is sent to our licence server about once a day to check the subscription; no collected data and no device identifier are sent. Payment is handled by Stripe, and card details never pass through the app.

Interface language
Available in English and Japanese. It follows the Windows display language by default and can be switched in the settings window.
