Slumber Studio is an offline AI voiceover and audiobook maker for Windows. Paste or write a script, choose from 54 natural-sounding AI voices, and render it as one finished audio file — narration for YouTube videos, audiobook chapters, podcast intros, guided meditations, sleep stories and bedtime stories. Everything runs on your own PC. Nothing is uploaded, and there are no per-character fees or credits to run out.

54 OFFLINE AI VOICES

The neural voice model is installed with the app and runs on your machine — no internet, no account, no usage limits. 54 voices across American and British English plus seven other languages. Speaking speed is adjustable, and you can switch voices partway through a script for dialogue or multiple narrators.

TEXT TO AUDIO, WITH TIMING CONTROL

Scripts are plain text with a few optional bracket tags:

[pause 8] inserts eight seconds of silence
[slow] [slower] [normal] change the speaking rate from that point on
[bed rain] and [bed off] bring ambience in and out
[breathe in 4] [hold 7] [breathe out 8] add timed breathing cues
[repeat 3] ... [/repeat] repeats a block
{name} fills in a name

The editor shows a live timeline as you type — narration time, pause time and total length — so you know what you will get before you render. Anything the app cannot understand is listed with its line number, never read aloud.

EXPORT READY TO PUBLISH

Export to MP3, WAV or M4A with title, artist, album and cover art. Choose the Publishing loudness target (-14 LUFS) for YouTube and streaming platforms, or Bedtime (-24 LUFS) for quiet listening. Loudness is measured to the ITU-R BS.1770-4 broadcast standard with true-peak metering and checked again after the file is written. Queue several exports and walk away. A 20-minute render takes about two minutes.

AMBIENT SOUNDS THAT NEVER LOOP

Optional background ambience is generated in code rather than looped from a clip: rain, ocean surf, wind, a stream, a fireplace, brown noise, pink noise and a deep drone. A 90-minute track has no seam anywhere in it. Each bed has a level and one character control — drizzle to downpour, embers to crackling fire.

29 READY-MADE SCRIPTS

Eight sleep stories, four body scans, four breathing exercises, three gratitude sessions, three sets of affirmations, four children's bedtime stories and two end-of-workday wind-downs — all original, and all written in the app's markup so they double as examples.

BUILT-IN PLAYER

Play anything you have made in the app, with a sleep timer that fades out over a full minute and a dimmed night mode.
