Wiggly Words: Phonics for kids
Wiggly Words is a playful early literacy app designed for children ages 4–7 who are learning to read. It helps build strong reading and spelling foundations through clear, repeatable practice.
Children develop essential skills like sound awareness, decoding, word recognition, and word building in a way that feels engaging, intuitive, and confidence-building.
A unique part of the experience is wiggling word parts. Children tap a wiggling part to replace it and create a new word, helping them see how small changes can transform words and meaning. For example, a child might turn "cat" into "hat", then "bat", building awareness of patterns while having fun.

APP MODES
The app includes two app modes: Learning and Practice.
Learning mode: Children work with new words. This is where they first encounter patterns, sounds, and word structures. The guided flow helps children listen, observe, read, and build with confidence, especially when they are still developing familiarity with early reading concepts.
Practice mode: Children and parents can revisit mastered words for extra repetition and stronger retention. This helps move words from "I know this sometimes" to "I know this automatically." Practice mode is especially useful for reinforcing fluency, confidence, and consistency over time.

PLAY STYLES
Wiggly Words also supports two play styles during learning activities: Just Read and Read & Build.
Just Read: Focuses on word recognition and decoding flow. It helps children strengthen listening, visual matching, and reading confidence without adding construction steps.
Read & Build: Adds active word construction after reading. Children build words themselves, which strengthens letter-order awareness and spelling readiness.

PARENT SUPPORT
Parents can adjust play styles to match each child’s pace, whether they need quicker progression or extra repetition. Because the structure stays consistent, children can practice with less frustration and more independence as confidence grows. Wiggly Words fits naturally into everyday routines.
The app also provides helpful insights that make progress easier to understand. You can quickly see what your child is learning, which words are becoming secure, and where additional repetition may help.
