Featuring the authentic combat, full-spectrum battlefield, and powerful scenario editor Arma 3 is renowned for, players can now experience the full scope of the Vietnam War on their own, with friends, or with one of the thousands of Arma community groups located around the world.

Arma 3 Creator DLC: S.O.G. Prairie Fire is optional to install and load. To play Arma 3 with this DLC enabled, please visit the DLC section in the Arma 3 Launcher, make sure S.O.G. Prairie Fire is owned and loaded, then launch the game by clicking the PLAY button.

Khe Sanh - 225km2 terrain

This unique new terrain enables players to design and run missions around Quang Tri Province, including some crucially contested locations of the war.

Dominate the province from the giant US Khe Sanh Combat Base.

Launch missions from Special Forces Camps at Lang Vei and Khe Sanh village.

Engage in battle at the historic Old French Fort.

Defend against enemy build-ups in the surrounding hills, including Hill 881S, Hill 881N, Hill 861, MSS Hickory and The Rockpile.

Run foot patrols around the region’s 50 sprawling villages and trails.

Travel by boat through miles of winding rivers and discover the floating market of Co La.

Carry out recon operations on the Laotian border, and find the extensive hidden camps, caves, and tunnels of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, or the hidden runway of Mouang Nong.

Featuring 2.7 million trees, buildings and objects from S.O.G. Prairie Fire Creator DLC, this large map is partly topographical and partly designed for gameplay. It features realistic scenery for Vietnam War fighting in Arma 3 with towering hills and deep valleys surrounding the Khe Sanh Combat Base.

The Bra - 25 km2 terrain

Welcome to The Bra, Laos.

This unique new terrain, covering 25 km2, enables players to design and run missions around an infamous section of the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos, nicknamed “The Bra” by MACV SOG units, due to the shape of the road as viewed from the air.

This is enemy territory! Infiltrate the area from the US Special Forces base at Camp Striker.

Run covert recon patrols around the area’s 12 detailed villages north of the road.

Call airstrikes on PAVN convoys running supplies down the main supply route, winding from east to west, following the Xe Xou river.

Search the southern region for Base Area 316, and hidden PAVN way-stations, caves and tunnel system.

Seek sanctuary in the Bin Lao swamp and rescue POW’s from the fortified POW camp transporting captured airmen to the North.

Featuring trees, buildings, and objects from the S.O.G. Prairie Fire Creator DLC, this new map is partly topographical and partly designed for gameplay. It provides a realistic recreation of a major MACV SOG target area in Laos, with detailed micro-terrain for intense close-quarters battle, made possible by the smaller map size.

13 New Factions, 85 New Weapons, New Uniforms & Gear

S.O.G. Prairie Fire offers 85 unique weapons with detailed animations, realistic sounds, melee features, and a diverse range of weapon accessories. There are 63 deadly grenades, traps, and other special items; 65 detailed uniforms; 69 vests; 43 backpacks; 20 accessories and 69 headgear items, all with numerous variations.

Go into battle as the US, South Vietnamese, Royal Lao, Kingdom of Cambodia, and Republic of Korea armies, carrying standard-issue gear such as the M1918A2 BAR, M1 Garand, M1A1 and M1928A1 Tommy, M16, M16A1, XM16E1, GAU-5A/A, M14, M14A1, XM21, M40A1, M60, M79, M1911 pistol, Model 10 Revolver, .38 Revolver, MX991 flashlight, M72 LAW, M20A1B1 Super Bazooka and M1897 shotgun.

Run recon as the elite teams from MACV SOG, US Special Forces, SEALs and CIA, wielding obscure and customised weapons like the XM177E1, XM177E2, XM148, M203, M63A, M63a LMG, M63a Commando, MPU SMG, M2 Carbine, M60 shorty, sawn-off M79, M/45, M3, MC10, MAT-49, Sten, Mk1 Underwater Defense Gun, HP pistol, Mk 22 pistol, Welrod, HD pistol, suppressed PPK and P38, sawn-off RPD, Type 64 SMG, sawn-off M14A1, suppressed 9mm M1 carbine and M127 flare.

Join the fight as the Australian and New Zealand armies, equipped with the L1A1 SLR, L2A1 and L4 LMG, F-1 and L2A3 SMG, L2A1 and L34A1 SMG variants for the elite SAS recon teams.

Stalk the countryside of South Vietnam as the guerilla Viet Cong, the rice paddies of Cambodia as the Khmer Rouge or the remote Laotian jungles as the Pathet Lao, armed with the outmoded but still deadly M1 Carbine, M1A1 (shorty) and M1928 Tommy, M1891, M91/30, M36, M38, M49/56, Ish-54 shotgun, K98K, MP-40, MAT-49, PPSh-41, K50m, DP-27, RPD, MG42, M1895 revolver, M712 pistol and B40 rocket.

Fight in the cities of North Vietnam as the People’s Army of Vietnam (PAVN), equipped with imported equipment such as the VZ.54 and SVD sniper rifles, SKS, VZ.61, PPS-43, PPS-52, Type 56, AK, KBKG, PK, Type 64, TT-33 and PM pistols, FKB-1 flashlight, B41 rocket and 9K32 Strela missile.

Each item was painstakingly designed with five years of oversight and advice from US Special Forces veterans who contributed their vast knowledge and private collections to help deliver the most realistic recreation of equipment possible.

46 New Vehicles & 43 Static Weapons

S.O.G. Prairie Fire features 13 asymmetric factions using vehicles to wage war in the jungles, mountains, cities, rivers, and islands of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

11 new MACV helicopters (CH-47A, ACH-47A, CH-34, UH34 and UH-1B, D, E and F transports, UH-1D Bushranger gunship, UH-1B, C, E and P and AH-1G gunships and OH-6A scout helicopters) versus 1 new PAVN helicopter (Mi-2 transport and gunships) with 24

3 new heavily-armed gunboats (Shantou class gunboat versus PTF Nasty class patrol boat and PBR MkII patrol boat).

2 new main battle tanks (M48A3 Patton versus T-54B), each with flamethrower variants and highly-detailed interiors.

3 new light tanks (M-41 Walker Bulldog versus Type 63 and PT-76A and B) with highly-detailed interiors.

1 new MACV APC (M113A1) with 7 armed variants (including M2, M1919, Mk18, M40A1, M60, M134) and 4 special variants (M125, M132, M577 Command and M577 medical) versus 1 new PAVN APC (BTR-50PK) with 2 armed and 1 medical variant. All APC’s come with multiple texture sets and highly-detailed interiors.

6 new military cars and trucks (M54, M151, M274 and Dirt Rangers versus Z-157 and BTR-40) with 44 authentically detailed variants.

4 new airplanes (F-4 Phantom II and the F-100D for the US, with 22 weapons in a variety of authentic colour schemes versus the MiG-19 and MiG-21 with 5 weapons, in several VPAF colour schemes). Each plane comes with a highly detailed cockpit, ejection seats, functional drop-tanks, afterburner, pylon masterarm system, and custom parachutes for the pilots.

2 new special air defence weapons (S-75 SAM missile and RSNA-75 radar).

6 new small boats (2 wooden motorboats, 3 sampans and 2 SEAL Team Assault Boats), with many variants, some armed.

2 new bicycle types for moving quietly on the Ho Chi Minh trail.

4 new cars and 1 armed variant - 4 stylish Boheme car models (Bonn, Rodina, Kupe and Krabice) and an additional Krabice van with DP-27 machinegun.

44 static weapons including light and heavy machine guns (M45, M2, M1919, M60, RPD, DP27, PK, ZPU4, SGM, MG42), grenade launchers (Mk18), mortars (M29, M2, Type 53, Type 63), howitzers and rocket launchers (M101, D44, H-12), late-war anti-tank missile launchers (TOW and 9M14), recoilless rifles (Type 56, M40A1) and naval Anti-aircraft guns (L/60 Mk3, L/70 Mk2 and V11M).

Multiplayer Co-op Campaign (up to 14 players)

The year is 1968 and the Vietnam War is reaching its peak. As elite MACV-SOG reconnaissance team "Columbia", your mission is to stop the flow of materials down the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Your team must engage in clandestine operations in Laos and Cambodia, hunting and destroying the PAVN 559th Transportation Group and its numerous security units. Feel the adrenaline rush of operating deep within hostile territory while the People’s Army of Vietnam try to track, locate, and overrun your team.

Written alongside former recon team leaders from the US Special Forces elite MACV-SOG, this fully voice-acted campaign consists of 6 highly replayable co-op missions featuring dynamic difficulty and drop-in/drop-out multiplayer capability.

Although the Co-op campaign is not designed for singleplayer, progress saving has been added while playing in "multiplayer solo mode." The 1.2 update adds 2 new campaign missions, and the team RTO can now directly call air support during Prairie Fire emergencies in parts of the campaign.

Multiplayer - 17 Scenarios & Bonus Mission

S.O.G. Prairie Fire adds 17 new multiplayer scenarios to Cam Lao Nam for Arma 3's official game modes Warlords, End Game, Zeus, and Escape. Fly routine helicopter missions in the bonus MP/SP mission “Ash and Trash” where you can explore the countryside and discover Cam Lao Nam’s most noteworthy landmarks.

This Creator DLC also features an overhauled in-game menu and multiplayer server browser (only usable with the DLC loaded). This optional Enhanced Multiplayer Menu contains an improved interface with many new features that help you find, choose, and join multiplayer games featuring the Creator DLC.

5 Singleplayer Scenarios

For those unfamiliar with the Vietnam War, 2 new singleplayer Showcase scenarios help acquaint players with the weapons, vehicles, and equipment used during that time.

Additionally, there is a fully narrated singleplayer Showcase scenario for both PAVN and MACV that introduces players to the world of jungle combat and historic warfare.

The bonus helicopter mission “Ash and Trash” can also be enjoyed as a singleplayer scenario.

Sounds & Effects

Hear your enemies whispering as they approach in the dark, yelling as they rush to overrun you, and crying out when they’re wounded. Immerse yourself in the hair-raising sounds of bullet cracks, explosions, and softly approaching footsteps. Experience the jungle like you never have before with realistic sounds of weather, wildlife, and disturbed vegetation. Every single sound and effect has been meticulously reproduced by the author of the JSRS Sound mod to offer players a truly captivating experience.

The 1.2 update saw many sound effects updated and improved, along with the addition of an immersive voice pack each for Australian and New Zealand forces.

The 1.3 update again overhauled many of the sound effects to make combat feel more dangerous, and many visual fx were completely reworked to bring a fresh immersion to the battlefield.

Music

The vibrant soundtrack features 21 rock and blues tracks by originalsas that take you back to the 1960’s. Played in vehicles or heard from the placeable FM radio, the tunes are complemented by original Armed Forces Vietnam (AFVN) news and adverts that ran at the time. Included as well are 16 cinematic tracks by FabianKreutzerSound, which were composed with authentic Vietnamese instruments and designed to augment the Vietnamese and Laotian landscapes.

Additional Content

S.O.G. Prairie Fire is complemented by a wide range of additional content, usable only when the DLC is loaded. This includes:

a Master Arm module for servicing and arming aircraft

a Logistics module for transporting items and casualties

a completely new voice-acted Battlefield Revive system

a Tunnel module for easy creation of tense underground missions

a Vietnam-era Artillery and Air support module to quickly call support from actual US callsigns

a quick-to-enable earplugs system

a vehicle jukebox

a melee system for close-quarter fighting

tree platforms and foxholes that enable soldiers to hide above or under ground

Also available are objects to support third-party game modes, like the new Mike Force Vietnam game mode, designed around the DLC to provide an exciting, combined-arms cooperative experience. This includes over 100 food, drink, and medical items (cosmetic props by default) and over 150 partially built buildings and fortifications for use in a dynamic building system. There is also full support for the popular third-party Task Force Radio (TFAR) mod.

COMPATIBILITY DATA FOR NON-OWNERS

People who do not own the S.O.G. Prairie Fire DLC are able to download and install the DLC's optional data via the Arma 3 Steam Workshop.

Subscribing to this Workshop item makes it possible for potential buyers to try out many of the DLC's assets prior to purchasing. It also enables non-owners to join multiplayer servers that make use of DLC content. Be aware that access to the DLC's terrain and campaign remains exclusive to owners of the DLC. Restrictions to the use of non-owned content also apply.

The DLC team was advised by former members of US Special Forces who served in MACV-SOG and includes over 100 creators who helped develop popular Arma 3 content, including the Arma 3 Jets DLC, and mods like Unsung Vietnam War, JSRS sounds, Icebreakr terrains, NI Arms, and many other Arma community releases since 2006. This fusion of real-world Special Forces combat experience with a passionate and dedicated Arma 3 Creator team brings you a highly authentic and memorable Vietnam War gaming experience.

Although some US Military Markings are featured with permission in this game, no US Military endorsement shall be implied by it. The Central Intelligence Agency has not approved, endorsed, or authorized this production or the use of the CIA seal, name and initials.

Arma 3 supports the BattlEye anti-cheat engine. Most server admins choose to enable it on their servers, so please refrain from cheats and hacks or you may receive a global ban. BattlEye global bans are shared with DayZ and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.
