Family Stars: Chore chart
The fridge-style reward chart that gets families talking again.

Remember the paper star chart on the fridge? Where every star was a real conversation about what your child did that day? Family Stars puts that same chart on the family's phones and keeps the conversation where it belongs: at the dinner table, on a walk, on the sofa. Not in a chat window. Not on a server. Not in the cloud.

The app has no internet permission. No account. Nothing to sign up for. It cannot collect, transmit, or sell any data, because it physically cannot.

HOW FAMILY STARS WORKS

★ Add your kids, each with their own color.

★ Tap "+ Star" when a child does something worth celebrating: cleaned their room, helped with the dishes, finished homework without being asked. Type a short reason so they know what the star is for.

★ Tap "- Star" if you have to take one back. Reason field works the same way.

★ Build your own rewards menu. 30 minutes of phone time. Pick dinner tonight. Movie night. A new book. A trip to the playground. You decide as a family what a star is worth and what each reward costs.

★ Kids see their star count and rewards with progress bars. When they have enough stars, they tap "Redeem" to request a reward.

★ Mum or dad sees the request, approves or denies, and the stars come off the balance.

★ Kids can also tap "I did something" to send a quick note about what they just did. You decide how many stars it is worth.

ONE PHONE OR MANY

Family sharing one phone? Do everything from the parent's device. Tap any child card on the home screen to open that child's view: see their stars, redeem a reward, or send "I did something". No second device needed.

Each family member with their own phone? Install Family Stars on each. The parent sets up the family first; everyone else scans a QR code to join in seconds. Phones then sync directly: tap "Sync via Bluetooth" and both phones exchange everything in one go (works between two phones at a time; for larger families repeat in pairs), or show and scan a QR code on screen. No router, no internet.

Family Stars is eligible for Google Play Family Library. Buy it once and share with up to five family members at no extra cost.

WHY FAMILIES LIKE IT

Stars only get added when a parent presses the button, so somebody is paying attention. Kids notice. They tell you what they did. You decide together what is fair.

It is honest. Stars come off when the reward is redeemed. No hidden currency, no upgrade nudges. What you see is what they earn.

It is simple. A toddler can press the gold "Redeem" button. A grandparent can press the green "+ Star" button. No menus to dig through.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS NOT

Family Stars is a reward chart. It is not a screen-time blocker, app limiter, or parental control tool. It does not lock the phone, restrict any other app, or track location. You decide what a star is worth and you grant the actual rewards (extra screen time, ice cream, a movie night) outside the app.

WHAT IT NEEDS ON YOUR PHONE

Camera: only when you tap "Scan QR code". The app never records or saves camera footage.

Bluetooth: only when you tap "Sync via Bluetooth", to find and talk to another family phone in the same room.

No contacts. No microphone. No storage. No location (except on very old Android versions where Bluetooth scanning legally requires it, and the app never reads where you are).

Built by an independent developer tired of every "family" app wanting a sign-up and a subscription.
