🔒 VPN SERVICE DISCLOSURE
Bantay Pusta uses Android's VpnService to provide local, on-device DNS filtering. This is a core protection feature essential to helping users block gambling content across all apps and browsers.
How VpnService is used:
• Creates a local DNS filter directly on your device — no remote server or tunnel is involved.
• DNS queries for gambling-related domains are blocked locally, returning a "not found" response.
• All other internet traffic passes through normally without any interference.
• No personal data, browsing history, or internet traffic is collected, stored, or shared.
• No traffic is redirected, proxied, or manipulated for any purpose.
Why VpnService is required:
Android does not provide a built-in system API for DNS filtering. VpnService is the only available mechanism to intercept and filter DNS queries across all apps and browsers without requiring root access. Without this, gambling websites could still be accessed through any browser or app on the device, undermining the protection that is central to the user's recovery.
This local DNS filtering approach is consistent with other device security and content filtering applications.
