Descripción
It started from the concern of parents who said, "Other learning apps are too fast for my child to keep up." It is a learning tool designed to help children with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, borderline intelligence, learning disabilities, ADHD, or those who learn slower than their peers build a foundation in math at their own pace.
■ Slow but in the Right Direction
'Slow Child' is not a training tool for getting the answer right quickly. It allows the child to accumulate experiences of thinking deeply, trying again, and arriving at the answer on their own. As small successes are repeated, the child gains confidence, and that confidence becomes the nourishment for the next challenge.
■ Design Principles
• Sufficient Time for Thinking — It does not rush the answer. The screen waits even if the child stops or thinks again.
• Step-by-Step Hints — Instead of showing the answer all at once when stuck, it helps step-by-step so the child can figure it out on their own.
• Voice Guidance — It provides audio explanations of problems and guidance so that even those who cannot read well can learn independently. • Sensory Focus — Flashing screens, sudden loud noises, and fast-moving characters have been intentionally removed.
• One Activity Per Screen — Only one activity is displayed at a time to reduce distractions.
• Real Achievement Instead of Flashy Rewards — Instead of sound effects and animations, the experience of small successes achieved by the child themselves is provided.
■ Step-by-Step Practice
It is structured into 7 levels, ranging from basic cognition to multiplication, to help the child progress one step at a time from their current level. • Basic Cognition — Learning colors, tracing lines, tracing dotted lines, matching identically, pattern practice, finding the same shapes
• Number Concepts — Learning numbers, writing numbers, counting, counting in Korean, number matching, coins and banknotes
• Number Relationships — Basic comparison, size of numbers, telling time, calendar reading practice, learning odd and even numbers
• Pre-Addition Concepts — Combining practice, splitting practice, complements practice
• Addition — Adding 1, 2, and 3, single-digit addition, carrying over practice, vertical addition, calculating money
• Subtraction — Subtracting 1, 2, and 3, borrowing practice, vertical subtraction, calculating change
• Multiplication — Multiplication table practice
