Carrot is local-first and genuinely lightweight. It opens instantly, works fully offline, and lazy-loads everything else. Your workspace follows you across web, macOS, iPhone, and iPad - pick up exactly where you left off.

Real-time collaboration - share a file by link, see live cursors and presence, grant read or write access. Version history — rewind any file to an earlier state Local-first and private — works offline, bring your own key, free to use this way. Workspace sync — web, Mac, iPhone, iPad, with optional GitHub backup.
* Designed for mobile, not shrunk to fit. Bottom tabs for Files, Editor, Changes, and Sync. Accept predictions from the thumb zone, swipe to stage or discard in the diff view - and every gesture has a visible menu fallback. Nothing is hidden.
* JetBrains Mono for code, a friendly hand-drawn UI, dark and light themes, and a single warm carrot accent.
