PLEARN
Inspiration PLEARN was established with the conviction that financial literacy is essential. Our belief is that a strong understanding of finance lays the groundwork for making informed financial decisions, promoting financial responsibility. With the growing emphasis on sustainable investment, it is imperative that future generations have the knowledge to make informed asset allocation decisions. Without a comprehensive understanding of sustainability and its integration into financial products, young people are at risk of making uninformed investment choices and missing efficient market outcomes. Furthermore, a lack of knowledge in this area leaves them susceptible to manipulation through deceptive marketing and advertising.

What it does PLEARN is a virtual board game aims to raise the awareness of financial literacy. PLEARN has a variety of features, interactive graphics, realistic scenarios, and entertaining educational elements that keep players engaged. The game tests the players' problem-solving skills. And also has levels that progressively increase in difficulty, allowing players to learn more as they advance. Players could track their learning and playing progress through the game, while earning rewards and unlocking new areas. Upon completion of a comprehensive investigation, we have discovered that there exists a significant deficit in the financial literacy among teenagers. This highlights the pressing need to enhance the financial competencies of this demographic PLEARN offers an innovative solution, leveraging fun and interactive methods to impart financial literacy, thus reducing the cost of financial management, increasing financial preparedness for unforeseen circumstances, and promoting overall financial stability for teenagers.

How we built it Our virtual board game was built using modern web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The game logic and mechanics were implemented using the React framework, while the server-side functionality was powered by Node.js and MongoDB. We also integrated various APIs and services to enhance the game experience. Overall, the game was built through a collaborative and agile development process that involved multiple team members and frequent iterations based on user feedback. We are converting game assets into NFTs that can be traded on the blockchain, and using tokenomics to incentivize gameplay.

Challenges we ran into As with any project, we faced a variety of challenges during the development of our virtual board game. Some of the challenges were technical in nature, such as integrating different technologies and ensuring compatibility across multiple platforms. Other challenges included designing engaging gameplay mechanics and creating compelling content for players. Overall, we were able to overcome these challenges through collaboration, perseverance, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality gaming experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of Have been selected by Boost Your Ideas Acceleration Program by Lazio Region- Italy, and ranked as n.4 in the list. Have been selected by Nights&Weekends- Buildspace program. We have launched MVP v.1 What we learned Throughout building this game, we learned a lot about the game development process, user experience design, and how to create engaging and educational content for players. We also gained valuable insights into the world of entrepreneurship, trading, investment, and risk management, and how these concepts can be effectively taught through gameplay. Additionally, we learned about the importance of listening to user feedback and continuously iterating on the game to improve the player experience.
