Why do we need such a platform?
• number of people willing to learn English is constantly increasing
• many learners cannot afford, or do not have the time for, regular English language classes or courses
• many people get confused when faced with huge amounts of online resources
• they can’t decide about resources that suit their level, age group, needs and interests

Basic underlying principles
(as evidenced by research)
• learners have different learning styles
• every individual should be able to learn and practice English their own way and at their own pace
• learners can learn better and faster on their own when they are provided with appropriate resources
• learners should be able to select the amount and type of resources that meet their needs and interests
• individuals should develop autonomy to ensure efficient mobile and life-long learning
• language learning is basically a matter of practice. The more contact with the target language, the more consolidated learning is
• language is learnt and consolidated best when it is presented through meaningful, real-life-like contexts and interactive tasks

LEP Main objectives
• make free good-quality English Language resources available to all
• select appropriate resources based on clear and well-defined criteria
• classify platform resources in the most user-friendly way possible
• cater for different learning styles
• give learners the option of selecting their favorite resources and learning media
• provide users with the necessary information and tips for making the best of each category of resources
• offer various IT and AI tools that promote learner autonomy
• promote general knowledge along with language learning materials
• provide learners with opportunities for practice through new content that is updated daily and around the clock
• provide teachers with appropriate resources for promoting their professional development, and enhance the quality of their students’ learning

In addition to the introduction, contact information, founder biography and social media pages, the platform offers the following features:
• resources listed according to learner preferences and needs
• resources organized according to language skills and components
• reference materials, search, IT and AI tools
• selected useful resources for teachers
• today’s picks: a set of daily-updated resources

Useful tips for platform users
