Popis
Die „Berliner Kältehilfe“ ist ein in Deutschland einmaliges Programm, das 1989 von Berliner Kirchengemeinden und Wohlfahrtsverbänden und von der Senatsverwaltung (damals Gesundheit und Soziales) ins Leben gerufen wurde, um obdachlosen Menschen eine unbürokratische Übernachtungsmöglichkeit während der kalten Jahreszeit anzubieten.
Zahlreiche Träger, das heißt verschiedene Kirchengemeinden, Verbände, Vereine und Initiativen beteiligen sich jeweils mit eigenen Angeboten wie z. B. Beratungsstellen, Notübernachtungen, Nachtcafés, Suppenküchen, Treffpunkten am Kältehilfeprogramm, um zu verhindern, dass Menschen ohne Unterkunft in Berlin erfrieren müssen.
Diese Projekte werden aus Zuwendungen des Landes Berlin bzw. der Bezirksämter finanziert, sowie aus Mitteln der Liga der Wohlfahrtsverbände und mit Hilfe von Spenden. Ohne die tatkräftige Unterstützung ehrenamtlicher Helfer*innen vor Ort wären viele Projekte nicht realisierbar.
Über diese vielfältigen Angebote zu informieren, ist unsere Aufgabe.
Die Mitarbeiter*innen des Kältehilfe-Telefons (und der daran angeschlossenen Datenbank) sammeln, aktualisieren und veröffentlichen die Angebote nahezu tagesaktuell. In unserer aktuellen Version 2023 können Hilfesuchende zudem über ein Ampelsystem schnell erkennen, welche Notübernachtung aktuell noch Schlafplätze zur Verfügung hat und welche ausgelastet ist. Diese Funktion wird im Laufe der Kältehilfeperiode 2023/24 schrittweise aufgebaut.
