rust Trail — Trusted, private, real-time location sharing for families and close groups.

Trust Trail lets you securely share your live location with people you trust. Built with privacy and battery-efficiency in mind, Trust Trail uses phone number-based authentication and consent-first sharing so you stay in control every step of the way.

Key features

Phone number registration & secure login with OTP verification and password support.

Consent-based real-time sharing — you control who can see your location and can revoke access any time.

Background tracking (foreground service) — when enabled, the app uploads precise location updates to Firebase at configurable intervals. Foreground service shows a persistent notification while tracking is active.

Request & approval flow — send access requests by phone number; approve, deny, cancel, or revoke access. Track request status in incoming/outgoing queues.

Interactive map — view your location and locations of users who have shared with you. Custom map pins show user initials and colors; map refreshes in real time.

Network resilience — automatic retry with exponential backoff, connectivity checks, DNS error handling, and graceful offline behavior.

Robust error tracking & logging — Sentry for crash monitoring and file-based logs for debugging.

Secure & privacy-first — encrypted password storage, secure API communication, and explicit user consent required for any location sharing.

Battery-optimized location updates — smart intervals and an admin-configurable upload frequency.

Modern UI — clean blue-gradient theme, responsive layouts, helpful guides and in-app tips.
