Kuvaus

CTCAE Pocket
La corretta registrazione degli Eventi Avversi che insorgono durante un trattamento oncologico è di estrema importanza sia nell'ambito degli studi clinici su nuove terapie, sia nella pratica clinica con trattamenti consolidati. CTCAE Pocket fornisce un rapido accesso alla terminologia CTCAE, tradotta in italiano da Francesco Grossi.

L'obiettivo del CTCAE (Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events) è fornire uno standard per la descrizione degli eventi avversi, e il relativo scambio di informazioni, ai fini della sicurezza dei trattamenti nel campo della ricerca oncologica. Il CTCAE è usato per definire i parametri di un protocollo (come la dose massima tollerata e la tossicità dose limitante), per fornire la valutazione di eleggibilità e le linee guida per l'aggiustamento posologico. Il CTCAE facilita la valutazione di nuove terapie oncologiche, le modalità di trattamento e il confronto tra i profili di tossicità delle varie terapie.
Nel Maggio 2009, il National Cancer Institute (NCI) ha pubblicato la versione 4 del CTCAE, successivamente aggiornata alla 4.02 e alla attuale 4.03, utilizzata per questa versione di CTCAE Pocket.

CTCAE Pocket è stato pensato per facilitare la consultazione e l'utilizzo quotidiano di CTCAE sia negli studi clinici che nella pratica clinica, fornendo all'utente la possibilità di accedere alle oltre settecento voci del database sia in inglese sia in italiano, attraverso la ricerca diretta o sfruttando la classificazione degli Eventi Avversi nelle 26 SOC (System Organ Class) corrispondenti alle SOC del MedDRA.
