Screen Timer
Новинка  Developed by a father who experiences firsthand the challenge of screen time at home. Here, we work with agreements: the day is organized by tasks, and after a period of playtime, our son takes a break to complete an activity (putting away toys, making the bed, taking out the trash, having a snack, switching tasks, homework, etc.).

The problem was the same as always: time would run out, and when it was time to end the session, there would be negotiation, resistance, and difficulty in getting the tablet. I needed a simple, predictable, and non-fight-free way to signal the end of time and automatically end the session. That's how this app was born.

You define how many hours/minutes the child can use. The timer runs while they play (YouTube, games, etc.). When the time is up, the app locks the screen and returns to the device's standard lock screen. No surprises, no confusion, just a clear rule: time's up.

The app is also simple, and that's intentional. The idea is to be straightforward, lightweight, and quick to use. With feedback from parents and caregivers, we will improve usability and control options. For proper functioning, it's important that the child doesn't know the device's unlock password ;)

*Why does the app request permissions?

1- Device Administrator (Device Admin)
This permission is necessary for the app to automatically lock the screen when the timer ends. Without this authorization, Android does not allow an app to trigger device locking.

2- Alarms and reminders (precise alarms)
The app uses system alarms to ensure that the lock occurs even if the child is using another app, such as YouTube or games, and even if the app is in the background.

3- Battery optimization (on some devices)
Some models (especially with modified systems) may delay background alarms. When requested, battery release serves to keep the timer reliable during use.

4-Privacy
The app does not collect personal data and does not access device content. It only controls a timer and triggers screen lock at the end of the set time.
