São muitas as diferenças entre os materiais utilizados na construção de dispositivos de redes ópticas, entretanto o cálculo de potência torna-se um aliado na gestão de clientes, estimando matematicamente o desempenho que a difração calculada da rede poderá entregar.
As atenuações causam desbalanceamento na rede óptica, que terá influência na integridade do sinal transmitido entre OLT e ONU. A importância em conhecer esse desbalanceamento está em estimar corretamente a necessidade de realizar reparos na rede, antes de seguir ofertando os serviços de internet.
A potência óptica do ponto de atendimento, conferida no ato da instalação, denota o desempenho e os alcances que aquela linha terá na instalação de um novo cliente. O POWER METER, assim como todo instrumento de medição, precisa ser interpretado para ter funcionalidade em seu uso, sob o ponto de vista da qualificação da rede.
dBm App é um aplicativo destinado à interpretar o valor conferido com o POWER METER, oferecendo estimativas importantes a serem consideradas antes da instalação da nova linha.
