Use of Accessibility Service:
MindfulScroll uses the AccessibilityService API to detect when short-form video apps (like TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts) are being used. This allows the app to track screen time and provide users with daily limits to encourage more mindful content consumption.
Use of Foreground Service:
To ensure the Accessibility Service remains active and reliable, MindfulScroll runs a foreground service. This is necessary to keep the detection running consistently in the background, allowing the app to function as intended.
Privacy and Security:
We do not collect or share any personal data. The Accessibility and Foreground services are used exclusively for:
• Detecting the active app in use (to recognize short-form video sessions).
• Providing screen time statistics and usage limits.
• Supporting the core function of helping users manage their digital habits.
The app does not read screen content, interact with other apps, or perform any unintended actions on behalf of the user.
