This app is part of Murmuras’ digital infrastructure. We provide a full-stack solution, from data collection (via the Murmuras app) to analysis (via Web-platform) for researchers and scientific institutes.
We are able to collect the following wide variety of data:
1. Location data (such as GPS-data and mobile network provided data)
2. Smartphone usage data:
a) App-sessions (time spent actively using a specific app)
b) Smartphone-sessions (time spent actively using the device)
3. Smartphone app content data (content that is being displayed to the user in specific apps)
4. Onboarding-questions (questions addressed at the beginning of a study - from the categories of demography, health, consumption, sociology, economy, psychology, politics, etc.)
5. Study related questionnaires at the beginning, during, and at the end of the study. Questionnaires can also be triggered by app usage.
6. Wearables data (such as activity, sleep, blood pressure, depending on the used wearable)
The technology is built upon the Menthal project, a unique scientific study of the behavior of more than 700.000 smartphone users that has been running since 2014 at the University of Bonn.
This app uses Accessibility services. Murmuras uses this permission with the active consent of the end-user according to the study in which they are enrolled. The Accessibility Service API is used for retrieving window content and device interaction in order to analyze app usage and user behavior.
