Description
Digital eye strain (DES) or often called as Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is discomfort that so many people experience after staring at their computer or smartphone screen.
This is a common occurrence because most people spend their day in front of a computer or smartphone screen.
An Optometrist named Dr. Jeffrey Anshel developed a simple but effective way to prevent digital eye strain called the 20 20 20 Rule, which says:
Every 20 minutes spent looking at a screen, a person should look at something at least 20 feet (6 Meters) away for 20 seconds.
Digital eye strain is not usually serious and does not cause any permanent damage, but it can cause discomfort and other unpleasant symptoms.
Some common symptoms of Digital eye strain are: Several symptoms can indicate digital eye strain, including:
1. Eye fatigue
2. Dry eyes
3. Itchy, red, tearing, or watery eyes
4. Headache
5. Sore neck and shoulders
6. Difficulty focusing
7. Blurry vision or double vision
