FlowTracker
FlowTracker is not affiliated with any government entity. It’s developed independently by AWARD (006-821-NPO) with water-sector partners.
FlowTracker provides water-resource analyses and visualizations for South African river systems including the Limpopo, Olifants, Inkomati and uMhlathuze.

Data sources (independent analyses from public datasets):

– Catchment agencies: https://www.iucma.co.za
– Research networks: https://award.org.za
– GloFAS (Copernicus/EC): https://global-flood.emergency.copernicus.eu/
– ECMWF weather data: https://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts
– CHIRPS rainfall (UCSB): https://www.chc.ucsb.edu/data/chirps

Key features
– Current river flow conditions from 200+ monitoring stations
– Historical context for today’s water levels and rainfall
– Dam levels with trends
– Submit field observations with photo capture
– Updated several times per day

FlowTracker processes public hydrological and meteorological data to show current conditions in context, supporting water-resource decisions across agriculture, municipalities, research, and environmental monitoring.
