According to a survey conducted in the United Kingdom, the five most commonly lost items, in descending order, are: mobile phones, house keys, car keys, important documents (related to work/studies), and finally, prescription glasses and sunglasses. The average number of lost items per respondent was nine, which corresponds to nearly 3,300 lost items per year.
By publishing a post about the lost item and offering a reward to whoever finds it, the app encourages other users to contribute to a common good: returning the item to the person who lost it.
To complement our application, its second core feature is functioning as a reminder—encouraging the user, as often as they wish, to perform a check-up of all important items they carry with them. This way, if something does go missing, the search area becomes smaller, significantly increasing the chances of finding the item while reducing the effort and energy required.
Another complementary feature of the app is a “pop-up” alert, sending real-time notifications to all users in the network to highlight “red alert” situations. This becomes a powerful social tool for scenarios such as missing children, car thefts, or missing pets.
In this way, our application not only expresses a strong sense of responsibility and social life improvement, but it can also assist in critical and high-interest situations, contributing to a better society.
A iFound é uma aplicação que foi criada no âmbito em que o cérebro do ser humano e a sua capacidade de memória apresentam várias falhas. O esquecimento faz parte da vida adulta por diversas razões tais como preocupação, stress, fadiga, possíveis problemas de saúde como depressão, demência, etc., podendo até ser algo genético. De acordo com um inquérito feito no Reino Unido, os 5 objetos que são mais perdidos, por ordem decrescente são: o telemóvel, as chaves de casa, as chaves do carro, papéis importantes (relacionados com trabalho/estudos) e por fim os óculos de visão e de sol. A média de objetos perdidos por pessoa inquirida foi de 9 objetos, o que corresponde quase a 3300 objetos perdidos por ano. Através da publicação de um “post” do artigo perdido, ao qual é atribuída uma recompensa a quem o
encontrar, irá fomentar aos outros utilizadores um novo ânimo em prol de um bem comum: devolver o artigo à pessoa que o perdeu. De modo a complementar a nossa aplicação, a segunda utilidade inerente à app é a questão de servir como um lembrete, ou seja, tentar que o utilizador, o mais frequentemente possível dentro da sua vontade, faça um “check up” de todos os itens de importância que leva consigo, sendo que, quando se dá o desaparecimento dos artigos em questão, o espectro de procura dos artigos torna-se mais reduzido, aumentando significativamente as probabilidades de o encontrar, limitando assim o esforço e energia despendida para achar os itens perdidos. Outra das opções para a complementaridade da aplicação é um alerta “pop-up”, através de notificações para todos os utilizadores em rede em tempo real, de modo a evidenciar “casos de alerta vermelho”, sendo uma ferramenta social poderosíssima para casos como: crianças desaparecidas, roubo/furtos de carros ou ainda desaparecimento de animais de estimação. Com isto, a nossa aplicação, para além de exprimir uma grande carga de responsabilidade e melhoria de vida social, poderá vir a ajudar em situações críticas e do interesse geral, contribuindo para uma sociedade melhor.
