Jiwu
Jiwu is a local item archive notebook built as a single page app with React and TypeScript. It helps you record personal possessions and track their costs and lifespan over time. Each item stores a name, base price, category, purchase date, and a status that reflects its lifecycle, such as in use, retired, or sold. When an item is retired or sold, an archive date can be recorded, and a sell price can be entered for sold items. The record also includes estimated usage days, estimated usage count, actual usage count, a rating, and a freeform feedback note. Items can include additional sub-items with their own purchase date and price, so small accessories or parts can be included in cost calculations.

The list view presents item cards along with a dashboard of summary statistics. The dashboard shows the total number of items, a total value based on the base price of each item, and a daily average derived from each item's calculated averages. Items can be filtered by category and by status, and they can be sorted by purchase date (newest or oldest first) or by price. The list supports a quick action that increments the actual usage count, which makes it easy to keep a usage history with minimal steps. Selecting an item opens a detail modal; from there you can jump into edit mode to update the record.

Navigation is designed for small screens: it uses browser history events so the back action first closes the detail modal, then returns from add or edit to the list. A fixed action button opens the add form, and the list scrolls independently from the header.

The add and edit form includes required fields for name, price, category, and purchase date. It supports a structured lifecycle section where you can set estimated usage days and usage count, and then pick a status. When the status moves away from in use, an archive date is required to keep the timeline consistent. The form also includes a freeform review area for narrative notes, and a simple interface for adding sub-items with a name and price. Existing categories are offered as suggestions through a data list, which reduces repeated typing and helps keep category names consistent. Delete is supported with a confirmation prompt to avoid accidental data loss.

Jiwu calculates multiple cost-per-time and cost-per-use metrics for each item. It computes the number of days between the purchase date and the archive date (or today if no archive date exists). Using that span, it calculates an actual daily average. For sold items, the calculation uses purchase cost minus sell price; for all other statuses, it uses the total cost without any sale offset. It also computes an estimated daily average based on the expected usage days, and per-use averages based on both expected and actual usage counts. These numbers are intended as transparent indicators rather than predictive analytics.

All data is stored locally in the browser using localStorage under a single key, so the app runs offline and does not depend on a backend service. There is no account system, no synchronization, and no external API usage in the current code. The project includes a lightweight import and export system for backups. Export creates a JSON file named with the current date. It first tries the Web Share API for Android-friendly sharing, then falls back to a data URI download, and finally to copying the JSON into the clipboard with a prompt. Import reads a JSON file and can replace the current data set after a confirmation dialog.

The codebase includes a Capacitor configuration and an Android project directory, indicating that it can be packaged as an Android app in addition to running in a browser. It uses Vite for development and build, with React 19 as the UI library. In its current form, Jiwu is a straightforward offline tracker for personal items and their lifecycle, focusing on records, manual updates, and transparent cost-per-use calculations rather than automation, cloud sync, or collaboration features.
