When aiming with controller and holding RB (combo) to adjust aim height, the aiming lock-on will be more "sticky" to avoid accidentally losing the target.

You can now add a recipe note to your recipe book by dropping it onto the book. Nothing big, just another way to perform the same action for immersion.

You can now hold X key to show "!" marker on dead ravens
Improved the spawn mechanism of ravens. After clearing all the ravens of a location, if you haven't been here for a long time, and then visit it again, it can respawn more than one ravens.
(This is big!) You can now create superior/premium food or serum without having to have all the relevant ingredients be of superior/premium quality. Instead, the game will calculate a "quality score" based on each ingredient, and decide on the final product quality based on an average. In other words, as long as most of the ingredients are high quality, the end product can be high quality.
If you really want to know the calculation:
Normal ingredient = 0 pt Superior ingredient = 1 pt Premium ingredient = 2 pt Avg score required for superior product: > 0.5 Avg score required for premium product: >= 1.5

Since you can now get the garrote before starting the potato farm quest, you should be able to strangle a Legionnaire before he's aggroed. This update now allows this.
When a NPC discovers a body from his own faction, he will now alert 1-3 nearby teammates to be on high alert for some time. But he will not do that if the body has already been looted.
Randomized the "timeout" when a NPC conducts certain activities such as investigating a disturbance before he gives up
Fixed a bug where player can interact with a certain NPC after he dies

To accommodate players who wish to play stealth as soon as possible, I have made the "combat training" from Razor (especially the one that teaches you how to stealth kill) available earlier, right after you complete his first job. However:

Gaining reputation to reach 100% to unlock special merchandises (weapon attachments) can be a tedious process, so I added one more method to increase faction reputation: by donating demanded items to the main trader.
To do this, first talk to the main trader (such as Sidor and Filip, basically people who give you serum orders) about "Demands". The type of items they list out will be the ones you can donate. For example, if he says he needs serums, then when you trade with him, you can put serums up for sale; but instead of pressing the Trade button, you can press the "Donate" button right under it. The item will be donated to the faction in exchange for some reputation gain. The amount to gain is related to the sell price of the item.
Note that the "demands" information also dictates how much the item costs when you sell to them. Items that are demanded by the trader will sell for a better price for you.

Hello Ghoul Hunters,
It's been a while! I was working tirelessly on optimizing the game because I realized that it will only run on Xbox One at 25 frames per second lol. So I went back and reviewed pretty much all of my code and found many opportunities for improvement: duplicate function calls, inefficient data structure, workload not spread out over multiple frames, etc.
After this optimization pass, my own frame rate increased about 25%. I'd like to hear about your experience after installing 1.89 update :)
My goal is to make sure the game can run on a laptop. In the past I always thought that laptops couldn't run it smoothly due to lack of good video card, but this optimization pass told me that the bottleneck is on the CPU and not GPU (basically, my code sucked lol). So if you have a laptop you normally play games on, please let me know if Tunguska can run more smoothly now.
Finally, a few other changes included in the patch:
Increased the amount of fish you get from grenade-fishing
Planting your own garlic, potato, and barley will generate even more products
Fixed several bugs caused by German translation
New gunshot sound for AS Val and VSS Strelok! (they are essentially the same gun with different furniture)
1.88-1 (31 August 2024)
I apologize for the bugs after posting the 1.88 update. There was an oversight where the function call to convert a string to floating number didn't take into consideration of systems in Europe where the float format is "1,2" instead of "1.2", and that caused the database load to fail.
I hope this update fixes this issue for folks in Europe! Unfortunately I cannot test it with my own system (even if I change the windows region to Europe), so please let me know if it fixes it for you! There can be multiple symptoms, such as item stats not displaying correctly, guns shooting ultrafast, NPCs only shooting semi-auto etc.

Hello Ghoul Hunters,
I know I have said previously that the last feature I wanted to add was the X-ray effect, but later I realized that someone made a mod on moddb to add a weapon firing mode feature :) But the mod had some issues with burst fire so I decided to just add the feature officially.
How Weapon FIring Mode Works
It's very simple and doesn't involve any additional key/button binding. Simply take your gun out, aim down sight, and then press Interact key (F key or A button by default). The current firing mode is displayed next to the weapon icon in the HUD.
Also you will see in the weapon item's description which firing modes it supports, for example the VSS supports S (semi auto) and F (full auto).
Now with this overhaul, the following guns have additional firing modes:
AKM: S/F/B AK-74: S/F/B M16: S/F/B AN94: S/F/B

More fixes and improvements for German translation
To make sure the important tutorial entries aren't missed, these entries will pop up a window requiring the player to confirm it, such as the warning for landmines.
Added an improvement to faction job assignment: when player kills a NPC standing on guard, and then save/load, the game will not try to immediately fill this guard position with another NPC, because it makes the player confused: I thought I just killed that guy! Instead, the guard position will stay vacant until there's a guard-changing/relieving event, and then someone sitting by the fire will take up the post. Or, it'll get filled when the faction replenishes the dead NPCs.
Added a ladder outside Station 11 train hangar to shorten the traveling distance going between Luxury House level and Ashinaka level

I have finally found a way to implement the see-through effect that's pretty much a staple of 3D top down games! It was requested since day one of game's release, but due to technical challenges, I never found a way to do it. But now it has finally become reality!
The see-through silhouette shows up whenever player or a NPC is behind a visible wall or roof. For NPCs, you will only see the outline if the NPC is within line of sight for the player character. Different colors are used for NPCs that are neutral (yellow), hostile (orange), or friendly (green).
You can also enable or disable this effect in the game options, at the very bottom of the list under Gameplay section.
This is the last feature I want to add to Tunguska: The Visitation. I'm working on porting the game to XBOX (pain in the ass), and then start working on the sequel.

Fixed a UI issue where you can interact with the slot behind a window
When taking off an armor while having items in the pockets, these items will drop to the ground with a warning. Once you put the armor back on, you can pick these items up and they'll automatically go back into the pockets.
Fixed a material issue where laser dot won't show up on NPCs
The motorcycle will now disappear when you first enter the game (normal mode) so that new players won't get frustrated by the lack of key. Once Lake Cheko is unlocked, the motorcycle will show up. Player will find a clue about it in Artur's death notes.
Fixed a bug where non-english UI doesn't allow player to save custom notes.
When you kill a NPC with throwing knife, bolt, or ballistic knife, when another NPC loots this dead body, he won't take away these items generated from the attack.

Dear Ghoul Hunters,
Thank you for your patience while I work on this big update! One of the most common feedback I received from players is that there are too many recipes scatters across different note papers and recipe books, making it inconvenient when managing all these recipes.
So I decided to enhance the Recipe Clipbook to include four tabs:
Serum
Food
Distiller (a crafting station added in Ravenwood DLC)
Workbench
Whenever you discover a new recipe either from loot or purchasing from traders, once you right click it to display the text, this recipe will be added to the Recipe Clipbook. The clipbook is added to player's backpack as soon as the player arrives at Zernaskaya village.
When you go to any crafting station, the game will automatically open the recipe clipbook in your backpack and display the relevant recipes, and you can click "Ingredients" button to collect ingredients from your backpack.
And here's the most exciting part: the recipes you record in the clilpbook will be now be carried over to NG+!
I also added a global map which you can open by clicking M and then select the "Global" tab. This map shows the regions you have visited along with the paths between them. It looks like this:
The German translation for the game is currently underway! Thanks to two Ghoul Hunters who have been working very hard on translating 70k+ words in the game. There are still some work left to do, and if you would like to help, please let me know by PM or joining my discord:
More Enhancements in 1.87
Increased serum ingredients stack size to 20
The motorcycle is now available for everyone! But you have to find the key first (it's in Lake Cheko somewhere!). If you have already started a new game before this update, you can use the motorcycle at anytime even if you don't have the key. If you start a NG+ game, the key will be available to you at the beginning of the game.
Some players have reported stutter when first engaging in combat. I suspect that it's due to slow IO with certain harddrives while the game tries to load the gun sounds and battlecries. In this update these sounds will be preloaded when you enter an area.
Added a condition check so that you can't bring the serum to Boris too early.
The Sanatorium stealth quest (after you get knocked out) can now be skipped. But not so easily! You would have to complete the Water Treatment Plant quest without being seen by the hostile NPCs there, in order to prevent them from setting the trap in Ashinaka.
Added a warning when you load a save that has been played with a different language.
Added an option to adjust the cursor movement speed when using gamepad.
Crowbar is now slightly better at chopping trees.
When you click the "Collect Ingredients" button during crafting, it'll also set the required temperature so you don't have to.
Slightly reduced the eyesight of enemies who are guarding or patrolling at night.
You can now climb through the window of the hangar in Station 11 so that you can avoid running into the Scythes... for now.
Made sure to check the file extensions of the MP3 music files in the Radio folder in case player puts any non-MP3 files there which can cause game to crash.
If player crouches when leaving an area, after loading the new area, player will stay crouched
Fixed a bug with the journal entry not popping up when you wake up in the Sanatorium. Also you will automatically crouch when you wake up.
Added more perks for reaching 100% reputation with factions, including more trader money, lower prices, and rare ammo.
The news story from Haruko about her father will no longer be required for the Pulitzer achievement.
Fixed a bug with workbench buttons not enabled correctly when you add more ammo to the stack for dismantling.
NPCs will pause bleeding when player is very far from them, because at that point their AI is paused too and can't self-heal.
Fixed a bug with holding G to throw a throwing knife doesn't display the throw angle indicator.
Travelling with the rail car will allow player to press A/D/Dpad/Arrow Keys to cycle through destinations.
Fixed an inconvenience with the player custom notes, where as soon as you click on the notes it'll highlight the entire text.

I apologize for creating a new bug a day ago, which causes the Boris quest to be stuck when you get his note. This patch will fix this issue. All you need to do is to go to anywhere in Ashinaka and bring the note with you. Right-click to read the note and then close the inventory. In a few seconds you'll see the journal being updated.

Woohoo! I'm excited to announce the second part of graphics upgrade - this time, terrains are finally looking better!
I have always struggled with the thought "why does the game look so bad during rain and overcast?" I got a lot of suggestions from fans and other game devs to improve the looks of terrains, in order to make the map look less boring during those non-sunny weather. But I was hesitant because, being not very good with visual art, I had no idea how to do it.
Eventually I figure out a way - I added three new textures, and after a week of clicking away with my mouse, we now have jagged roads, rocky cliffs, and puddles for you to splash on.
I also added a little hut by the Barn in Zernaskaya, because that area is just too empty. The hut has... some interesting surprise in it :) (If you have completed Haruko's assassination quests you'll know what it's about)
And finally, I fixed some issues with the water and got a nice new normal map for them. Looks a lot better now!

Hello Ghoul Hunters,
I'm proud to introduce to you the first batch of facelift for Tunguska! In this update, I added the following eye candies:
Volumetric sunlight. Now you can enjoy beautiful sunrise and sunset, as well as some haze after the rain! This can be disabled in the options.
Cloud shadows during overcast weather. Gone are the boring, washed out overcast environments; you will now see realist, moving cloud shadows that spices up the map! This can be disabled in the options.
Increased moonlight and mist at night
Rain mist and water splashes when you run during rainy weather
Blood spatters! When you injure any NPC, there will be blood flying out and landing on the ground and the wall behind (if the gun is capable of exit wounds)
During toxic fog in Lake Cheko, you will no longer see the boring, hazy static fog. Instead there will be yellow-green mist.
When you kick anything, not just door/crates, you'll hear the thud and see dust coming out. Also added camera shake for kicking. Feels much better now!

When you use mouse wheel to zoom in, you can also raise the camera angle to see further

Revamped the repair kits. Now it should have a minimum of 25 points of repair value. Also extended the repair amount to 100% instead of 25%, but only newly generated repair kits will have this value. Sorry about the inconvenience! I'm making this change because the repair kits don't really do well with items with low maximum durability, such as armor insertions.
Also, when repairing with wood and metal, it'll also have a minimum of 5 points of repair value.
Fixed a bug where the rock of rejuvenation disappears
Fixed a bug where if the secondary sidearm is showing up and you want to repair it with the kit, it tries to repair the primary sidearm instead.

Revamped the object selection process for Hybrid, Auto-Aim (previously "ChaseCam") and Gamepad control scheme. Now, when you are in front of multiple objects, you will see arrows on the nametag instead of the "(More)" text in the name. You can use mouse wheel or gamepad Right Stick to cycle through the objects.
Added a dead body at the entrance of Zernaskaya Barn level, to help the new players out with a double barrel and a grenade.
Also, in normal difficulty modes, once you start fighting the Legionnaires at the barn, a few Bootleggers will show up to help you out.
Updated the human NPC behavior when you shoot at them with a silenced weapon while hidden. They will act differently depending on whether the person getting shot is near the teammates. And if the NPC is killed with one shot or one strike, the team will not be notified.
The Fireaxe will now cut trees a little faster than the wood axe.
Jacob will now sell Mortes while he remains in the Ranger camp.
Due to the way the levels are set up in Ashinaka, the motorcycle will see two destinations with identical names, one being the Ashinaka Forest map. I attempted to make it more clear in this update. But you can still waste gas by selecting a destination you are already at. It's just a very awkward level setup due to limitations wayyy before game was released, that I can't easily change at this point.
Removed Gunther's "heavy" attribute so that he can be strangled.
You can no longer kick NPCs through walls.
Fixed a dorky behavior of patrolling NPCs, where they would run to their next patrolling destination if they are disturbed. They will just walk instead.
Fixed a bug with switching ammo type for high capacity LMGs that results in oversized ammo stacks in the backpack.
Also, now when you unload these high capacity LMGs, you can only unload up to one stack of ammo at a time instead of generating an oversized stack of ammo item. For example, when unloading a 100-rn PKM, you'll first unload 40 rounds, and then another 40, and then 20.

Now you can use SHIFT+Click (or RT + A on the controller) to equip armor, primary weapon, sidearm, helmet, and headgear from backpack onto the body slots, as long as no other containers are open.
Added NPC reactions when one of their teammates are shot by a silenced weapon at night. The reactions depend on how far teammates are from the person who's shot. Sometimes a bunch of NPCs will go search for you, and sometimes they will chicken and hide behind covers.
Fixed a bug where if you crouch still and just tap SHIFT, the character would stand up
Added some additional hints in the journal for the Boris/Kirill investigation quests
Made some improvements to fall damage detection. If you sometimes stumble upon an object and end up with airborne -> fall down, you won't take fall damage from these hiccups.

In this update I am attempting to add some flanking behavior for the enemies who are fighting the player. Flanking has always been a major challenge even for AAA games - check out this funny post:

That's exactly the reason I haven't been able to simulate flanking. Sure, the NPCs can choose another cover and sometimes it leads them behind the player, but most of the time they will just run straight towards the player like idiots. For flanking to work as intended, the NPC would need highly complex multi-path pathfinding and prediction. What I'm doing in this build is not fancy at all, and it's very subtle, and only applies to certain locations in the game where flanking makes sense. The end result is, once in a blue moon, an enemy will show up behind you and surprise you while you are camping and cheesing.
Other fixes included in 1.80-6:
Fixed a bug that prevents the Klemens' Teeth quest to be completed
Added detailed crafting instruction on the right panel when you open a crafting station, until you open a recipe to hide it
The Armor Locomotion Unit will reduce flinch while getting shot, and it stacks with the flinch skill perk
Added a few journal entries that remind player that the quest item is no longer needed so they can be sold/thrown away
Replaced the icon for the Silenced Makarov with a PB

Human NPC's "searching enemy" behavior had been pretty bland. I made some improvements for this behavior:
Each NPC will have a "courage" value determined by his squad's condition, his health condition, and weapon
When this NPC decides to search for an enemy that vanished from his sight, depending on the courage value, he might: -- Rush to the last know position of the enemy -- Wait there and aim at the last know position of enemy for some time -- While aiming, walk towards a random position to search -- While aiming, crouch-walk towards a random position to search Overall, making NPCs less "dumb aggressive".
When NPC is crouch-walking while out of your sight, you won't see the noise circle until he's very close.
Added more "SHIFT+Click / RightTrigger + A" usage in the inventory: -- To move item from backpack to planting UI's seed/fertilizer slots -- To move an item back to the trader -- To move an item into motorcycle's fuel/scrapmetal slot -- To move an item into an interactive object's slot And now when you quick-move items into a slot, it'll move 1 count of it each time you shift+click. For example, with the grain mill, which needs 4 seeds, you just shift+click 4 times to move 4 seeds.
You can now quick-move a tool item in the backpack into the TOOL slot and replace whatever is already there.
Fixed some bugs with the jumping/rolling animation. It used to cause player to hop into the sky whenever the frame rate is low. After some coding overhaul, jump and falling feel a lot more natural now and is no longer affected by frame rate.
Fixed a bug with applying bandages while crouching which caused player to be visible to enemies.
Added better error prompt when player tries to use G to quick-throw a non-grenade item such as the stink gourd. G for Quick Grenade is only used for grenades, to prevent player from panic-smashing G and wasting an item when they don't have a grenade equipped.
Forced an achievement check for "Pulitzer" achievement whenever the game loads, in case the API somehow missed it.
The Blessed rock and rock of rejuvenation in Ravenwood will no longer make item disappear if you put an invalid item in it
1.80-3 (21 March 2024)
Fixed a bug with the motorcycle consuming all of the gas you put in the slot even when there's more than it can hold
If you have a serum recipe book in your backpack, when opening the serum lab the book will be opened automatically
Added a Makarov with limited amount of ammo to the player during the Soviet border mission. Player can choose to use the gun or the crowbar. Updated the tutorial text for this too.
If player dies at the Soviet border, the game will ask whether to skip this map (and give up the weapons and money) and go straight to Zernaskaya
Improved gamepad handling: if you release the left trigger while aiming and if your right stick has input, the right stick will be slowed down for a second so that the camera doesn't accidentally spin around
Also improved the gamepad auto-aim threshold when the enemy is very close.
If you have a superior stink gourd, you can summon 1 more spider per gourd; and if you have a premium one, you can summon 2 more.
Fixed a bug with summoned spider not causing any explosive damage after it dies
Changed the rate of receiving radiation when your radiation protection is not enough to cover the radiation in the environment. The rate is now exponential - meaning if there's just a little bit of radiation, you will gain radiation poisoning much slower.
Got new icons for F1-F5 pocket on the HUD for gamepad

Now, for both mouse and gamepad controls, the cursor will highlight the body equipment slots by proximity - i.e. you don't have to put the cursor directly on the item or slot in order to select it. This will make inventory management feel better for both mouse/keyboard and gamepad (especially gamepad!)
When using gamepad to select a topic (the vertical list of buttons on the right during dialogue), after selecting, the cursor will stay where it was so you don't have to keep moving the cursor down the list each time you select a topic

1.80 (13 March 2024)
This is something I had planned to do ever since I was working on Slaughterhouse DLC. Now that the DLC is released, I have finally taken two weeks to dedicate on improving inventory management for controllers.
If you use the left stick to move the cursor over any of the grids, you'll see a "LT" icon popping up. Then, if you hold down Left Trigger, you'll enter the "Tetris mode" where your left stick will move a block cursor inside the grid, and it will be confined within the grid until you let go of the Left Trigger. This will make item selection and placement much easier. If you need to move an item from one grid to another, just let go of the left trigger, move the cursor over to the other grid, and hold LT again to enter its Tetris mode. It actually feels like playing Tetris, haha.
Moreover, I added several improvements for controllers:
When you enter the game the very first time, you'll see a black "Press Any Key" screen. If you press a keyboard/mouse button, you'll be assigned the Hybrid control scheme, and if you press a controller button, you'll be assigned the Gamepad control scheme.
You can now use the Up/Down DPAD to select a save game slot and then press Y to load it.
When at the Options page, if you hover the cursor at a line of option anywhere, you'll see the value of the option becoming bold. Now you can use Left/Right DPAD to scroll through the values. You can do the same with selecting body type and previous job at the character creation page.
I hope these changes make your experience better, and I'm still going to explore more improvement opportunities!
Now, other fixes/changes in 1.80:
If you hover the cursor over the response option buttons in the dialogue, you'll see what the player will say if this button was clicked. This will help you know more about the choice.
Fixed a null pointer bug when trying to place a repair kit in a pocket slot.
Made Pyro's health random between 350 and 600, instead of always at 550
Excluded Angel of Fire (armored Pyro) in Slaughterhouse, except at the boss fight
Fixed a bug with the Ammo trader in Slaughterhouse only selling one stack of ammo per type later on. Now it's randomly between one stack and two stacks per wave.
All seeds will have a chance to be high quality. If you plant a high quality seed, it'll contribute to the chance of the plant yielding high quality products. Premium > Superior
Turning in high quality food or serums will also improve your relationship even more with the trader's faction.
Fertilizer will also contribute to the chance of yielding high quality products.
Fixed some of the small houses in Ravenwood where you get pushed up to the roof if you try to jump over furniture.
Update (Oct 13th, 2023)
When aiming under Gamepad/chasecam mode, the crosshair will now be on the point of the target's body where the gun is aiming at, instead of the feet.
Swapped the default controller button mapping for Radial and Sprint. Now you can hold left button to sprint, and hold left stick to bring up the radial menu.
When shooting at an enemy with a shotgun (with buckshot) at very close ranges, the penetration capability will increase dramatically. This is because with very tight grouping, the shots act almost like a slug.
Rebalanced the shotgun accuracies
Increased the damage and accuracy for slug rounds. You can now achieve a 2-shot kill against armored humans.
When cooking/crafting using the wrong crafting station and fails, the game will hint you that you are using the wrong tools
Fixed the wording of class specialties for the Drug Cartel to be more accurate

Patch 1.67-6 (May 10th, 2023)
Fixed a bug where if you manage to duplicate the tooth before Larry/Jian Jun asks you to, you can't complete their quest. Now you can just go back to the rock and duplicate it again to finish the task.
Fixed a bug with picking up an item while holding melee weapon. If backpack is too full, you could cause inventory to be stuck because it was trying to open the inventory while you swing the weapon, but since you can't open inventory while swinging, the inventory thinks there's a selected item and won't open.
Improved the walking animation while holding melee weapon
Lighting bolt that strikes you should disappear when you teleport away (like when you enter a portal)
The RPD will now require 130% arm strength to use. This is to balance with the new DLC weapons that require (a lot more) arm strength

Patch 1.67-5 (May 5th, 2023)
I noticed that during the Soviet border patrol scene, the patrol guy tends to get stuck by the boom barrier until you distracts him. The issue seems to be Unity's pathfinding algorithm. I made some changes to the boom barrier and now the patrol no longer gets stuck there.
This update also contains a LOT of hidden code changes for the Dead Zone DLC. These code doesn't apply to the base game, but potentially I might have broken something.
Patch 1.67-4 (April 27th, 2023)
Added the 7-shot Nagant M1895 revolver as the entry-level revolver. You can buy it from higher tier traders or find it in the Priest's safe (requires a new playthrough). The 44 magnum is going to be a high tier revolver. You will find one in Station 11.
Sidor's ammo box on his balcony is going to be locked. You will find the key from the dead body next to the old mill. The ID for this key is "sidorammoboxkey"
To improve PC performance during large battles, if there are more than 15 human NPCs around, flashlight shadow will be disabled temporarily.
To avoid peripherals interfering with the mouse input in the main menu, mouse input by left stick is disabled until you press any of the buttons on the controller.
Fixed a bug with Shamil keeps respawning when you activate the hangar door in Oblenska.

You can now perform a running slide when you press the Crouch key while sprinting, which ends in crouching stance. You can basically sprint towards a cover and then press Crouch to quickly get behind it.
NPCs will now heal themselves (with a little animation) AFTER they decide that there is no more threat around them. They will not do this during combat. This helps preventing friendly NPCs from slowly dying from bleeding.
Each NPC will now have an intrinsic shooter skill stat. This stat determines how well they lead the aim at a moving target. The higher the NPC's tier, the higher chance they have good aiming skill.
Added Drop and Drop All button to the menu when you right-click an item, for quickly discarding them from the backpack. They will drop onto the ground.
Added separate mouselook rotation speed setting, which is independent of the Q/E or mouse wheel camera rotation speed.
Improved sprint handling. You can now cancel the sprint by aiming down sight, and while aiming down sight, you can sprint to stop aiming.
Fixed the aiming inaccuracy for various shotguns
Stashes will now prepopulate their contents when you first enter the map. No more easy save scumming, and no more losing a good roll from loading previous save.
Increased the height of dive-roll motion so that you can cross the same kind of gap as jumps.
Alkevier will stop accepting your potatoes as seeds (since he already has potato plants growing), and will only take one seed per stack when you turn in seeds, to avoid accidentally selling everything to him.
Fixed a bug with rolling/jumping spending too much stamina.
Balanced the amount of XP you get from traveling to areas. You will get a big boost of XP when you travel to a place you haven't been to before, but when you go to somewhere you have been to before, you'll barely get anything.

You can now complete Sidor's potato farm quest by offering 1000 rubles - but this option only shows up if you actually have 1000 rubles at the time. After which, you lose the money, and after turning the quest in with Sidor, Legionnaires will become hostile.
You can now Shift+Click the product in crafting window to quickly move it to backpack
When using the repair kit as workbench, you can now use it to dismantle as many times as you want, as long as you don't close the window. After which the kit is gone.
Patch 1.66 (April 2nd, 2023)
I've realized that I've been really missing what I did back in Skyrim and Diablo: poisoning the sword :) So I decided to add a poison item that you can drop onto the equipped melee weapon. The poison will give the Melee weapon 5 poison hits, and each hit delivers a varied amount of poison damage over time.
So where can you get the poison? You can either find it (sometimes, if you are lucky) with Cheslav after he becomes a travelling merchant, or if you manage to lift your relationship with the Lake Cossacks (Grigori in Lake Cheko), he will sell it to you as well. I'll also introduce a way to craft it in Nightmare or Dead Zone difficulty mode in the DLC.
Speaking of Dead Zone DLC, I just wanted to provide a quick update on my progress. I have just finished working on all the TEN new weapons, and started working on the SIX new weapon attachments. Then I'll need to figure out how to start a new playthrough after ending the game and place those new weapons in the map only for high challenge levels. Could get pretty messy, so I need to figure it out carefully.
Other changes included in 1.66:
Tree cutting is balanced. Now the amount of damage you do to a tree depends on the type of weapon, how you swing it, the weapon's durability, and your melee skill perk (whether you have the increased damage perk)
Enabling the control scheme tutorial at the beginning of the border-crossing quest, to remind players other options
Fixed a bug with not able to add a two-row backpack upgrade if only one row is space is left. Also, After unlocking all your backpack space, if you find further backpack upgrades, they'll just increase your max weight.
Added an option setting to adjust the UI size. Please don't use - and = any more.
Fixed a bug that doens't allow player to craft serum or cook immediately when the Visitation ends
Fixed an exploit where you are able to access Sidor's locked up cupboard while standing on the stairs
Added the missing collider to the locker in Ashinaka lab
Adjusted the 9x18 ammo weight
Fixed a bug where you can see the floor below if you aim a gun at the wall of the first floor, when you are on the second floor
Changed the label of "Auto" for auto save to "Quick", and the label of "Save" for manual sleep save to "Sleep"
Patch 1.65-2_2 (March 27th, 2023)
Fixed a bug with equipping shield causing null pointer error
Added a mechanism to reset player action state, if the state is stuck for over 10 seconds. If you ever get stuck into action state race condition, this will be helpful
Reduced the price of firewood
Added an command to the console (Backspace): "unstuck". If you ever get stuck inside a geometry, just enter that command to lift yourself up
Patch 1.65-2 (March 26th, 2023)
The throwing knife has been added to the game, but since it's a DLC weapon, you can only access it by using the console. So if you are interested in trying it out, open the console with Backspace and type "get throwingknife 10". Equip and use it like a grenade, but you have to figure out how to make it "stick" to the target. Try throwing it at wooden objects like wooden fence.

When aiming a rock/grenade, you can now see the distance in meters

The radiation of Mad Mechanic anomaly will now vary from day to day. If the radiation is too high for you, come back in a day or two.
Your base speed of receiving radiation is reduced. it was too fast previously
Fixed a problem with NPC doesn't drop loot that he looted from another dead body
Fixed a problem with silenced 44 magnum not playing reloading sound
Each salt crafting now produces 10 salt
Fixed a problem with not able to rebind quick-save key
Reduced the level of noise produced while strangling someone
Added a raycast blocker on the second story floor of Sanatorium
Fixed an issue with player immediately alerts the enemies when the Sanatorium stealth quest begins
If you close a notebook, and open the same one again, you will automatically go back to the last open page. If you open another notebook, the page memory resets.
Fixed an issue with player stopping for a second while sneaking and toggling always-walk
All smashable crates no longer have physics. this should prevent them from flying away.

Beer will now give you a short and big buff in arm strength, which results in significantly higher melee damage. Drunken brawls!
Traders will pay a better price if you sell them a gun with better durability than all of his same items

Reduced energy consumption speed, which wasn't meant to be this fast.
Patch 1.65 (March 18th, 2023)
Dear Ghoul Hunters: First of all, thank you everyone for the support! It's an honor for me to present this game to you, and I hope you get many hours of fun time from it :)
As a small token of gratitude, I'm releasing a free gear that you might find useful: a wooden shield. You can equip it on either of your primary/side arm slots, and when you pull up a melee weapon, the shield will be moved to your left arm. The shield will provide 100% protection from head-on melee attacks - if you keep it in good condition (and no it doesn't block bullets). Attacks from the side has some chance to be protected as well. It will definitely help when you tackle a group of Scythes!
You can find this shield at the barrel on the small pier by the Zernaskaya church (if you start a new playthrough), or buy it from any traders who sell melee weapons (except Sidor, his level is too low).
Also, I know many of you folks are eagerly waiting for the Dead Zone DLC. I apologize for the delay; I just had to fix some of the technical debt that got piled up. I'm almost done with making all the new weapons. I just have a couple of things left, such as the throwing knife - it's going to be the most realistic throwing knife you'll see in modern gaming, might even be as tricky as real throwing knives :) After this, I will start making some "boss ghouls" for the high challenge playthroughs.
Other changes included in this update:
NPCs will sometimes loot dead bodies they see. Not all of them, which would be frustrating for you. They would equip the new weapon if it's better than their, and save the rest of the loot in their inventory, and put them on sale if you trade with them.
The main menu now supports up/down arrow or Dpad navigation
When you click on "Continue" in the main menu, it'll show a "load save game" page where you can choose which save to load.
Balanced the sound effects in the main menu.
Increased the F1 Grenade and Makeshift Landmine's damage drastically to make them more desirable and useful.
A new icon for the potato bread so it's no longer confused with the Rye bread
Fixed some issues with strangling with Garrotte. Hopefully now you will no longer encounter problem with your victim sliding away when you strangle them.
Fixed a bug with NPCs detecting dead bodies even when they are out of their sight. This could cause your silent takedowns to go haywire when you kill one of them, and immediately the guards would notice the dead body
Fixed a bug with Ashinaka sanatorium spawning human NPCs who just stand there like idiots
Added a chest in the car in the army cordon level. Now you can find all three gasolines required in that level, not having to go back to town to get it.
Sidor will try to remind you about Hans's detector project before you head to the train station
Siren and mutant spawning sounds are cached, hopefully to reduce some micro-stuttering
Added error handling of failure to connect to local database, which can be caused by putting the game
