Testimony of Help is an evocative short film in virtual reality (VR) that tells the story of the courageous actions of the Ulma family from Markowa, who selflessly aided Jews during World War II. The project immerses viewers in the atmosphere of the Podkarpackie region in the 1940s, meticulously recreated using archival photographs taken by Józef Ulma. Through the detailed portrayal of this historical context, users embark on an emotional virtual journey through time.
The film is narrated by six-year-old Basia, the daughter of Wiktoria and Józef Ulma, who shares her family’s heroic experiences from her innocent childhood perspective. She reflects on life in the village and the changes that transpired after the arrival of new residents.
