Depic is a true celebration of surprise, laughter, and the confrontation of our imaginations, all within a friendly competition framework where the goal is to win.
However, in the world of Depic, there is no "right" or "wrong" Depiction; Every game ends with a ranking, but also a map of similarities between players, revealing unique affinities that bind players.
Here's how Depic works:
After scanning a QR code to enter the game, each player receives eight digital cards. Each round, one player, known as the "depictor", chooses a card and gives an elusive but relevant clue, so that some, but not all, can guess their choice. There are two modes of play:
• "Find the Card": The "depictor" reveals the clue but keeps the chosen card secret. The other players choose a card based on the clue. Once all the cards are revealed, the challenge is to figure out which was the "depictor's" original card.
• "Find the Clue": The "depictor" shows the card, but the clue remains hidden. The other players then have to propose a clue that matches the revealed card. The challenge here is to guess what was the "depictor's" original clue.
The competitive dimension of Depic is reinforced by a scoring system:
• If nobody or everyone finds the correct card or clue, the "depictor" earns no points, and all other players receive 3.
• In other cases, the "depictor" and any player who correctly identified the "depictor's" choice receive 5 points.
• If a player, who is not the "depictor", manages to make another player guess their card or clue, they earn an additional 2 points.
• The game ends when one of the players reaches the victory score. In addition to the final ranking, an overview of the affinities between players, calculated from the similarities in their choices throughout the game, is also presented.
