Description
O "Role Playing Game" ou RPG, um jogo que surgiu nos Estados Unidos na década de 70 e posteriormente foi trazido para o Brasil, estudiosos observam que esse tipo de jogo possui características (colaboração, cooperação, interdisciplinaridade, entre outras) que o tornam uma potencial ferramenta pedagógica, tendo em vista que o referido jogo não surgiu com intencionalidades pedagógicas e sim de entretenimento.
O RPG é um jogo de criação coletiva de histórias. Participam do jogo o mestre (que é o responsável pela condução do jogo) e os jogadores. Todos assumem os personagens da história. Sendo o mestre responsável por conduzir o jogo, arbitrando sobre as ações dos jogadores e controlando os não-personagens. Ao analisarmos as potencialidades pedagógicas do jogo RPG, sugerimos que a sua aplicação na escola seja feita pelo professor e que este assume o papel do mestre no jogo. Assim, o projeto envolve a participação ativa de professores e alunos.
Neste aplicativo, o jogador é convidado a escolher um ou mais dos treze temas disponíveis, se cadastrar, criar uma mesa para ser mestre, ou jogar como personagem de uma mesa criada por outro mestre.
Em nossa abordagem, o conteúdo será trabalhado por meio dos desafios que estão presentes ao longo da história que compõe o jogo. Dessa forma, à medida que vivenciam o jogo, os participantes acessam os conhecimentos sobre o tema abordado. O diferencial nesse tipo de jogo está na vivência da história através da interpretação de personagens, na tomada de decisão e na resolução de problemas que são próprios do cotidiano dos sujeitos. É importante acrescentar que nos baseamos em princípios do socioconstrutivismo, para o desenvolvimento do jogo, e a partir dessa abordagem epistemológica elaboramos um design cognitivo socioconstrutivista para a produção de conteúdos educacionais digitais e temos adotado este instrumento no processo de desenvolvimento dos jogos RPG digitais educacionais. O design cognitivo socioconstrutivista funciona como um instrumento norteador para a definição dos aspectos que deverão compor o material didático.
