Roligt lärande
Portalen bygger på spelifierat lärande och har en rad spel-element som att få samlarkort, slå tidsrekord och nå högre nivåer. Ca 70% av eleverna som använder tjänsten loggar frivilligt in efter skoltid och på helger. Utöver de läxor som delats ut av läraren kan eleverna på egen hand lösa uppgifter och få belöningar.
Återkoppling för lärare
Lärare har fullständig kontroll på elevernas framsteg - dela ut läxor, ge belöningar och följ elevernas arbete. Verktyget har bland annat rapporter som hjälper att identifiera områden som eleverna behöver träna mer på.
Alla elever som använder MattePortal har en egen inloggning till systemet. Med denna inloggning kan eleven nå portalen oavsett vilken enhet hen använder. Det finns hundratals olika uppgiftstyper som är kopplade till Lgr 11. Uppgifterna skapas med en slumpgenerator vilket innebär att dess innehåll alltid är varierat.
I MattePortal finns förutom alla matteuppgifter även en nivå med programmeringsuppgifter. Dessa uppgifter löses med hjälp av blockprogrammering. Blockprogrammering är ett effektivt sätt att lära sig programmeringskoncept utan att behöva skriva koden och oroa sig för stavfel. Just därför passar denna typ av programmering ofta bra även för yngre elever.
