If you are visiting the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, make sure to download the app and follow along the stories while you experience the vast site at your own pace.
The app includes more than 40 stories, complete with multimedia content. These stories are divided into four categories: Witnessing Vimy, The Site, The Memorial, The Battle. Choose one to explore or browse around the storylines as you navigate through the site. As you follow the path, read soldiers' testimonies, watch the King’s unveiling speech or listen to pipers as you reflect on this important moment in Canadian history.
This app was created with the generous financial support of the Carswell Family and Veterans Affairs Canada, in collaboration with the Canadian War Museum and Canada Post.
* The Expedition: A Journey Into Commemoration is part of the Vimy: A Living Memorial project. With the financial support of the Carswell Family, the Vimy Foundation, Veterans Affairs Canada, the National Film Board and their partners proudly launch Vimy: A Living Memorial at the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Through digital storytelling, this new project will bring Vimy to Canadians and the international public, while transforming the experience of commemoration.
