คำอธิบาย
“Japan’s Sakura Spots” is a smartphone application that shows on a contemporary map the approximate locations of cherry blossoms depicted in artworks. Use it to rediscover the beauty of Japan while comparing how cherry blossoms looked then and today.
The location information displayed in this app is based on holding museums’ databases. We expect the number of pieces and cooperating museums to gradually increase. The app’s great for people who are looking for cherry blossom picnic spots, or for those who just want to view beautiful cherry blossom images from time to time.
While this app was developed so that users can both experience Japan’s iconic cherry blossoms and grow more familiar with the artists who have skillfully depicted the country’s beauty, don't forget that seeing the actual artworks is the best way to truly get in touch with the artists’ sensibilities. On the artwork information screens one finds a link to the homepage of the museum at which the piece is held. After enjoying them on your smartphone, while not plan a trip to see it for yourself?
