All of this is built into a “history hunt” experience, allowing players to explore a community’s present and past at the same time. Directional information in the app helps players find a time frame location. Once in the right spot, the AR feature places the corresponding historical photo in the video shot. Players can fade the photo in and out to see changes that have taken place between the past and present. Narration accompanies the experience, helping players fully understand the significance of the image and the location.
Once a player has visited a location, the corresponding photo and narration are added to their album (inventory). In this way, players "collect" historical photos as they visit each location. The collected photos can then be viewed any time within the album. This becomes a great way to collect and share history from a mobile device.
Time Frame will eventually support historical experiences in hundreds of cities, creating an exciting and interactive way to explore history. In fact, we believe Time Frame is “the future of history.”
