L’antica pizzeria Frontoni nasce nel 1921 come “vapoforno”, in uno dei quartieri più popolari di Roma, Trastevere. Dal 1992, l’attività ha sede a Monteverde, il quartiere di provenienza della famiglia Frontoni. Attualmente, ad occuparsi della gestione di Frontoni dal 1921 a Roma sono Claudio, Nadia e i loro figli, aiutati da uno staff competente e professionale.
La storia della Pizzeria Frontoni è fatta di sapori e profumi che va avanti da quattro generazioni.
Generazioni di romani che, negli anni, hanno modificato il loro modo di vivere, lavorare e mangiare. Fondato nel 1921, il 'vapoforno' Frontoni sfornava il pane per una Trastevere popolare che, nell’immediato dopoguerra, aveva bisogno di pane, pasta e altri generi di prima necessità.
L’incontro tra il forno e la salumeria ha portato, di lì a pochi anni, alla nascita di un prodotto tutto romano: la pizza bianca ripiena ('la romana'). Lo studente, l’operaio o il professionista che, attratto dall'invitante profumo che si diffondeva su viale Trastevere, non potevano far altro che cedere alla tentazione di quell'offerta prelibata.
Oggi, dopo quasi cento anni, quei sapori continuano a vivere e a rinnovarsi giorno dopo giorno grazie al lavoro della quarta generazione di Frontoni che si impegna ogni giorno per servirvi ancora con la stessa immutata passione.
