Background
The primary objective of AASTP-1 (Manual of NATO Guidelines for the Storage of Military Ammunition and Explosives) is to establish conventional military ammunition and explosives safety principles and guidelines for NATO member states. This approach is intended to promote ammunition and explosives safety globally and facilitate the harmonisation of NATO requirements with other international explosives safety standards.
