The app is designed to solve a common problem: most people do not understand the difference between meteor, meteoroid, meteorite, and asteroid. This leads to confusion when watching meteor showers, reading news, or thinking about impact risks. This app provides a clear, structured way to learn and explore the full journey of space objects entering Earth’s atmosphere.
The experience is built around three core pillars: observation, understanding, and simulation.
In the Videos section, users can explore real footage and simulations of meteor events, including meteor showers, fireballs, and impact scenarios. Each video is categorized and connected to relevant knowledge so users can understand what they are watching.
The News section provides updates about meteor sightings, fireball events, and asteroid-related discoveries. Content is presented in an accessible format to help users interpret scientific information correctly.
The Sky Conditions tab helps users decide when to observe meteors. It combines cloud cover, moon phase, light pollution, and meteor activity into a visibility score. The app also suggests optimal viewing windows and provides guidance on where to look in the sky.
The Meteor Knowledge section is the core learning system of the app. It includes an interactive terminology simulator that shows how a meteoroid becomes a meteor and then a meteorite. Users can test their understanding through short challenges and explore the physics of atmospheric entry using adjustable parameters such as speed, size, and angle.
