A true Spatial treat! A great way to explore the growing world of free, multi-sectoral, public-domain development data, cloud analytics, and visualization at your fingertips!

This innovative App has been significantly refreshed by the World Bank as part of an evolving Livable Planet Observatory to improve awareness of a growing world of freely accessible data and analytics of relevance to development. Although challenges still exist in access to development data, there are opportunities to leverage the data collected from across the globe, from earth observation, and generated by models to provide useful insights. This App draws from the hard work over the years of many countries, agencies and individuals that have worked to make data more organized and accessible as free online services to provide insights for any location of interest globally. A new world of cloud analytics and visualization has also enabled access to powerful exploration of complex data. This “Spatial Agent” mobile App update leverages these new capabilities to visualize this growing range of spatial and temporal perspectives of development-related data on iPhones or iPADs.

Zoom into any part of the world and explore a range of amazing datasets and perform amazing analytics in seconds! For example…
• What parts of the Amazon are being threatened by recent deforestation?
• How have China’s Greenhous Gas emissions changed in the last decade as compared to India?
• How have urban areas grown in Malawi’s capital Lilongwe in recent decades?
• What is the youth population of the Volta basin and how is it distributed?
