Weheliye App
Weheliye App is a crucial digital safety platform tailored specifically to Somali women, providing essential informational resources to help them combat online harassment, scams, and digital abuse, and navigate online spaces safely. Developed by the Somali Women Journalists’ Rights Association (SOWJRA), a women-led nonprofit organization in Somalia, the app serves a unique and critical purpose by addressing a significant gap in digital safety education for Somali women. The app contains the following informational content:

1. DIGITAL SAFETY AWARENESS: The app provides overall understanding of various online threats specific to Somali women, such as cyberbullying, doxxing, hacking, and mobile money scams.
2. COMPREHENSIVE DIGITAL SAFETY EDUCATION: Users can access step-by-step safety tips for protecting accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, equipping them with practical tools to enhance their online safety.
3. HELP LINE: The app offers hep line function enabling users to reach digital safety experts, report incidents, and receive immediate guidance. This feature is not just informational but also interactive, allowing users to seek real-time help.

Weheliye is not just a static informational app—it actively empowers users by providing them with specific, actionable tools to enhance their online safety, which is an urgent need in Somalia’s digital landscape. Furthermore, the Help Line bridges the gap between users and safety experts, ensuring that women facing digital harassment have direct access to support.
