The Midst
The Midst is a location-based social network and life logging app. Posting to The Midst drops a pin at your current location and is visible to anyone in the world. Pan the map to see what's happening around the world. Posts expire after 24 hours, ensuring information remains relevant and up-to-date. Posts can be anonymous by hiding your screen name in Settings.

Check-in: Have you stumbled upon a fantastic new food truck, a great coffee shop? Check-in by tapping a place on the map. Check-ins can be public by also posting to The Midst, or choose to only save check-ins to your Saved Places list.

Wish List: Someone may check in at a place you find interesting. Tap the pin on the map in The Midst to add that location to your Wish List. Saved places and wish list items are saved in the Check In tab.

Some regions now require age verification for social apps. The Midst uses Apple’s Declared Age Range verification to meet these regulations while protecting your privacy. Verification is a one-time, on-device check using the age information already stored in your iCloud account. We only receive a yes/no confirmation that you meet the 18+ requirement. The Midst never sees, stores, or transmits your birthday or actual age.

  • - Saved Places Pins
    - You can now view places you have checked in at on the map in the Check In Tab.
    - Places saved to your Wish List can also be toggled to display on the map.
    - Toggle these options in Settings.
    - Tapping a pin allows you to view details about that place.
    - Fixed an issue where searching your saved places was case sensitive.
    - You can now search the descriptions you leave for a place when checking in. Example; You check in at a coffee shop that has a lot of plants and saved "Nice coffee shop with a lot of plants" in the description. Later if you want to find that coffee shop that you know had plants, searching the word "plants" will show you the coffee shop.
    - Fixed an issue where city name was often repeated in the Saved Places view.
    - Simplified toggle button text when saving a place in the Check in tab as private or to also share to The Midst publicly.
    - Fixed an issue where searching your wishlist items did not include the name of a place.
