HOW IT WORKS:
1) Ask everyone to put a finger on the screen and wait for the countdown to finish. The starting player will be randomly chosen after 3 seconds.
Note: The maximum number of simultaneous touches is limited by the hardware on your phone. This may vary depending on which iPhone model you are using.
2) If you would rather avoid other people touching your screen, you can set the number of players with the +/- buttons. Then press the shuffle button to randomise the starting player number. Count clockwise around the table, starting from yourself, to find out who gets to go first (e.g. with 4 players, if the random number is 2, the starting player would be the one who sits next to you on the left).
The numbers go all the way from 1 to 99. This means that the app can be also used to help you setup games that have numbered tiles (I for one find it rather annoying and time-consuming to shuffle tiles).
For example, Black Forest has building tiles numbered from 1 to 36, and during setup you would flip 10 of these randomly. Another example would be Carnegie, with 16 or 32 (if played with an expansion) unique department tiles, of which 4/8/16 randomly chosen ones will not be used in the game.

The app can be used for free without losing any of its functionality. However, if you like it and find it useful, I would appreciate your support of my board gaming habit. It'll cost less than a packet of card sleeves!
The Premium version will remove the 15 second window between opening the app and it being ready for use.
