Alarms are activated from the lock screen where you hold down the round alarm button for two seconds or with the alarm button inside the app. There is also an external alarm button (Safeclick) that is connected to the phone. Eliot Protect primarily for alarm centers. The connection to the alarm centers takes place via Eliot's cloud service and today Eliot has support for connection to most major alarm centers in Sweden.
