Il dispositivo OR942DI ha al proprio interno un circuito elettronico in grado di funzionare come uno “Hot-spot” WiFi, ovvero come un “Punto d’accesso”. Questo significa che, quando la funzione è attiva, un nuovo punto d'accesso sarà visibile nell’elenco delle reti WiFi mostrato dallo smartphone.
In condizioni normali, la funzione “Hot-Spot” non è attiva, per ragioni di sicurezza informatica e per non aggiungere una emissione di radiofrequenza nell’ambiente quando non necessario. L’attivazione dello “Hot-Spot”, quindi, avviene solo
manualmente, mediante la pressione di uno dei tastini o del joystick del dispositivo e permane per un tempo di circa 5 minuti. Se in questo tempo il dispositivo viene contattato dall’App, il periodo viene prolungato; altrimenti, trascorso il tempo limite, il WiFi viene spento.
Nella App, un semplice menu ad icone ci indirizza verso le varie fasi della programmazione degli orari di intervento per i due relè interni al dispositivo (2 canali), consentendo di impostare tempi di accensione e spegnimento per entrambi, per ogni giorno della settimana. Per le vacanze è previsto un ulteriore programma, indipendente da quelli settimanali, per ognuno dei due canali disponibili. Il numero massimo di eventi (accensione/spegnimento) per ogni giorno è 48, per ciascuno dei canali. E' possibile anche impostare eventi di durata da 1 a 59 secondi.
Le programmazioni preparate nell'App, anche mentre questa non è connessa al dispositivo, vengono inviate al dispositivo durante la connessione WiFi e una volta trasferite restano memorizzate nell' Interruttore Orario Settimanale 2CH OR942DI in modo permanente.
